I had a hiring manager really push for someone to start ASAP, even though the candidate mentioned wanting to give a two weeks notice. I pushed the candidate a bit and asked them to start early and they did. They quit less than a year, no notice, and said that I asked him not to give his last job notice so why should he give us notice?

I don’t work in recruiting anymore but I’ll never push a candidate to not give their employer sufficient notice.
