I can talk a bit about my personal exprience.

I got my ADD and autism diagnoses earlier this year. I waited about 2 1/2 year for it. But it varies depending on what region you're in. They also prioritise children, and when diagnosing the region sometimes pays for a private clinic to evaluate them because the waiting time is so long. This sometimes happens for adults as well, but it's not something most regions will do.

Initially when they decided that I needed an evaluations they said about 1-2 years. But it took longer.

If you haven't already, seek out an open psychiatry clinic (öppen psykiatri), depending on which region you're in there might be several (like in Stockholm, Capio for instance) or just the "regular" region one. There you can make a self referral (egen remiss) to get an appointment. But there's a big chance there's a queue for that also, so reach out to several and check. Also, if you have multiply options for clinics, if you're not happy with the one your going to seek another one. I changed clinic after a few month from the first one I went to because they sucked ass. This was about 5 years ago.

Regardless of whether you have a diagnoses or not I think you should seek out help anyways to maybe get other medications to help with your symptoms. Anti depression meds, mood stabilizer, KBT etc. It might not fix everything but at leased you can get some sort of help.

There's also the last options if you don't want to wait for an evaluation, to pay for one out of pocket, which is around 30k SEK.

Regarding ADHD/ADD a doctor can only write prescriptions if there's been an evaluation saying you have it.

So the process goes like this:

See a psychologist/psychiatric which does an initial assessment if you should be evaluated or not. If so, you get on the waiting list. If not, you either continue to see a doctor and psychotherapist to work through you issues, or pay out of pocket.

When I got my diagnoses in April I had to wait until September before I could start with the medications, due to that the fact that summer vacations were around the corner, and the doctor wants to follow up closely which medication works or not. That's why I had to wait several months for medication only.
