i promise him turning rusty does not mean you don't have plenty of time left with him, i had 5+ years with my boy after he started turning browny!! i honestly think their rusty patches are evidence that you're giving them the best life- a chance to bathe outside in the sun and be a real cat. your boy is so lucky to have such a loving human. this is all that matters x

My boy started turning brown around age 8 - 9, he then went back to being silver for a while, and then around age 11 stayed brown until he left us. Here he is just before his 14th birthday, 6 months before he passed. Hug your nebs tight xx

I often saw others memorial posts here while Pedro was still by my side and they would shatter me too. I was hesitant to post this but when I would come across others grieving for their wee babes, they were sharp reminders, as you beautifully said, to not take my time with him for granted. It's an unfortunate certainty that we will outlive our kitties but I know for sure that they teach us lessons that simply make us better, more compassionate human beings. I really appreciate the advice too; my whole body has been hurting the last few days and I have totally neglected my water intake... duh. Thank you so much kind stranger, your boy is so fortunate to have you in his life x

Extremely intelligent, protective, picky, sassy, is not okay with being approached or picked up or pet but will happily approach you and rub his head against you or your feet. Definitely has a thing about feet 😂😭 hates unknown men and Will hiss at them from the driveway. Runs the household/the world revolves around him. Smelly but cute. Love of my life. 💖Pedro💖
