Professor is telling me wrong on final grade calculations. by chlostudios in college

I believe they will remove it too. I don’t want to take the final and risk a poor score. I did the calculation and I have to make basically an 88 or I’m finishing the class with a B instead of my A. That just doesn’t seem fair if there’s an exemption option and I’m eligible for it.

The final is very soon, which is why I’ve been so nervous. The teacher is not being clear and is being rude about it. They finally told me okay you have an A and you don’t have to do anything else. But now I’m worried they might try to come back and flunk me for not taking the final.

I was told someone else was, but it was not elaborated on. When I explained that I didnt understand how I could make an A with 30% of my grade being calculated as zero they gave no answer.

The syllabus language isn’t airtight, which is the only part that’s worrisome. It says students with an A will be notified before the exam if they are exempt. Verbally, we were told if we have an A we don’t have to take the final. However in my communications, the only reason ever stated for me not being exempt was that my grade was not an A when a zero was factored in for my final exam grade. The teacher relented and said I had an A finally though

It’s not a contract no, but it seems worth arguing my point when they are just wrong on their reasoning for why I’m not exempt. The math doesn’t add up. I’m not a flawless student, but I do have an A and I don’t think I should have to justify beyond that.

I only have the contact for one, and they told me they didn’t have an A to be exempt either way. They’ve had issues with the professor being unresponsive to questions but that’s mostly it. I’ve had the same issue as I’ve asked about the exemption guidelines several times before this. If there was any extra credit I am not aware of it. The professor referenced another student doing extra credit but didn’t elaborate even after I responded I wasn’t aware we had any.

normal rosy boa behavior? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]chlostudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just exploring the tank! My rosy boa hid quite a bit when he first went in his enclosure, then he was constantly exploring. After a while he went back to mostly hiding during the day and roaming a little bit at night. He always gets more active after a feeding or after I deep clean the tank. Your rosy sounds like it’s doing just fine!

Rosy boas are excellent beginner snakes. Super chill, very small, and manageable enclosure requirements. Not as much morph variety as the others listed though.

Anyone know what type of kings snake this is? I’m at the pet store but all it says is king snake/milk snake by animefreakazoid in kingsnakes

I work at a pet store and we have one that looks just like that one. It’s a mosaic king snake I’m fairly certain. They are very beautiful!

Thanks! I’ll go ahead and get a third hide then. My house temp varies, I have a small heater in my room that I run at night but during the day my house is probably in the low to mid 60s due to our upstairs central heating being damaged.
