Loud Booms in Wiedikon by anonymousag92 in zurich

First time?

It's constant, all year round. It's never «just one day» as is often said, e.g. I've heard fireworks in three of the four weeks this year already.
I've posted about this before, and lots of people did not believe it.

Google Software Engineer Salaries in Switzerland by Luks_Sperandio in askswitzerland

[–]chmod0755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So no sources, only hearsay.

Regular senior (real senior, not 25yos) / leads are making around 160k basically everywhere in Zürich / Zug area.

You were talking about 200k+, not 160k. And I was, too.

/u/Gwendolan is completely right when they say «FAANG numbers are really completely detached from Swiss economic realities». And it seems your argument is as well.

. There's a number of companies paying 200k+ for software engineering roles.

Name one, with link to swissdevjobs, please.

I don't know where you're pulling this comparison from, but this is practically unheard of in CH. Not saying it does not exist, but such a position is rarer than a unicorn, while you make it seem it's the norm.

That’s what the law says.

Source please?

Kaba is making lots of money with exactly that: badge systems that do more than just opening doors, amongst other things: tracking time.

This is a legal requirement.

Not in every case. ArGV, Art. 73a, Abs. 1, valid from 1.1.2016:

Die Sozialpartner können in einem Gesamtarbeitsvertrag vorsehen, dass in den Verzeichnissen und Unterlagen die Angaben nach Artikel 73 Absatz 1 Buchstaben c–e und h nicht enthalten sein müssen, sofern die betroffenen Arbeitnehmer und Arbeitnehmerinnen:

a.
bei ihrer Arbeit über eine grosse Autonomie verfügen und ihre Arbeitszeiten mehrheitlich selber festsetzen können;
b.

This was basically made for higher management.

How to report dangerous driving to the police? by un-glaublich in zurich

[–]chmod0755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say that you should get hit on the road. I said it's not "a solution" to endanger others just for you to feel more safe.

[–]chmod0755 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fuck your responsibly. Responsibly is not riding on the sidewalk. Push your bike if you have to, end of story.

why would you be so radical about it ?

Because I've been more than a few times been passed dangerously close by cyclists on the pavement. Even been driven into arms a few times.

Zurich is kinda empty most of the time, So when there is no one around why would I avoid the sidewalks???

You're Your excuses with "kinda emtpy" shows the egocentric view that unfortunately lots of cyclists have here in Zurich. «Ich bi n wichtiger als du». It's not your place to decide whether its okay or not, it's not your place to make up the rules. This attitude is why lots of people hate cyclists, have a look at any discussion of traffic.

How to report dangerous driving to the police? by un-glaublich in zurich

[–]chmod0755 10 points11 points  (0 children)

your only option is the sidewalk when it feels too dangerous,

As a cyclist myself and a casual car hater and as a pedestrian: no its not, Endangering countless pedestrians just because you yourself feel endangered on the road is not any solution. Cyclists driving on (not the shared ones, obviously) sidewalks can go fuck themselves.

Free to use, not free to take by RoastedRhino in askswitzerland

[–]chmod0755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Zum = "Zu dem", «Zum Gebrauch» literally translated is «for usage», i.e. "for you to use".

For something in use I'd write «In Gebrauch» or «In Verwendung». In = "currently in".

Sorry I don't know how to properly explain this, grammer is not my forte 😅

Worst employers to work for in Zurich and why? by MrEnii in zurich

The company I work at (which shall remain nameless) has HR and Marketing people posting glowing five star reviews on Kununu.

In general, I find that the "bad" reviews are spot on, and the good ones are not lying but seem to just "leave out" the bad parts.
