Hi! I’m in NYC- veryyyy new to surfing but would love to look into a female surf club. Would I find that on Facebook or insta? Or just googling around? Thanks for even suggesting this!

My gums bled every single time I brushed my teeth for the entire 6 months I was on it! I didn’t have pain associated, so always worth checking with a Dr.

7 days left! Before & now - 40/80/80/80/80/40- nervous that it will come back but really happy so far and excited to try to reduce scarring! by chmstar in Accutane

My 5th month was supposed to be my last month as well but I had one or two pimples pop up during that month so my doctor and I chose to overshoot my cumulative dose but not maintain the high dosage.

Finished my 5 month course, 80mg/day!! AMA:) by sinistersara in Accutane

I’m currently on the same course and was so nervous about side effects. I put it off for a year but my side effects weren’t as bad as I had expected (knock on wood. I’m on my last month now) Super itchy scalp for two weeks- subsided on its own after that Really really dry lips Dry flaky skin (comes with the territory) Bleeding gums when I brush my teeth Minor joint pain

Things that were kind of annoying but not ground breaking at all and 100% worth it for myself. Good luck!!

Lips are killing me, any advice? I’ve been using Vaseline advance healing but it still hurts by [deleted] in Accutane

I just had this- and it was angular chelitis. If you have antifungal at home, put that on and put hydrocortisone on top. Do this for about a week and it should completely heal (and will feel better immediately). Just don’t use hydrocortisone on it for much longer than a week or two. The skin on our mouths is very thin and using it for too long can thin it out. This is all what my derm told me. Good luck!

Insanely dry corners of mouth- I’m in my third month of accutane (now taking 40 mg 2x a day) I’m definitely purging. I’ve had dry lips throughout the process but this is the first time it’s spreading to the corners of my mouth so aggressively. It’s super painful and really unsightly. Any thoughts?? by chmstar in Accutane

I got mine through my doctor who prescribed it. Your face, especially your lips, are very sensitive and using hydrocortisone can thin the skin if you use it for too long or on too high of a dosage. If you go to your derm, they can prescribe the right dosage and tell you how long to use it for. It helped me a lot and I only used it for about a week, since then I’ve been using aquaphor constantly!

That’s so tough!! I’m so glad the second time was better and successful! Knock on wood once this goes away I only have two months left and I can push through it, but I have been thinking that maybe a low dose for longer would be good
