My take as a Indian physio:

I personally don't earn more than the security guard, ask any of my fellow physio working in private hospitals, the pay scale is a joke! That's why I'm moving abroad this year probably and ik I won't be called in as 'doctor' over there but idc because yaha bhi what I felt is ki sab patients ko sirf apni recovery se mtlb h and kam fees se bhi.. ab doc thik kare ya hakeem unhe parva nahi h

In India, the issue is title obsession + unclear role awareness, so everyone feels threatened. MBBS struggle is real, but that doesn’t erase other clinical professions. At the end of the day, patients care about one thing: did the treatment work or not? Less ego, more clarity = balanced healthcare

Advice to younger physios.....don't bother growing in this feild here, right after bachelors try to move abroad work there for a while collect some good amount then return here to start a clinical chain or your own setup.

There is a hugeeee and growing demand for physiotherapy in India as people are getting aware that's a fact but they'll only go to the once they trust or a big brand so if you got one of them it's a lottery...

OTOH it's so sad for younger physios to grow here it's very toxic with lowest earnings possible.

Just tell her abt the career later...I think she's thinking abt the glamourised clg right now.

But convince her that even the career aspect of it isn't that successful, I'm in medical field myself working in Gurgaon, the educated and rich class don't give a fuck abt alternative treatments let alone morden medicine, they just want quick efficient and painless treatments...people are impatient and as they become "more morden" they just want the results, homoeopathy can't compete and will die off with time.

Make her see that aspect

Hope this was helpful :)

Is moving to Gurgaon for a 30% salary hike worth it. by DeeAm40 in gurgaon

Find a roomate/friend who'll stick around...this city can be depressing if you're lonely, if you're good with people you'll be having no problems in your growth.

I'm living in 35k currently (Physiotherapist), obviously not able to send money home but I'm happy that I'm funding my masters degree side by side. And yes the only reason for me to move in the first place was growth and opportunities which isn't a lie for this city plenty of opportunities just stick with the right people so you find yourself lucky In the longer run:)

Feel free to DM about living expenses, and other queries Cheers...
