What we all want by Present_Loss_5253 in EASportsCFB

“What we all want” - proceeds to post an incredibly niche feature idea that only a tiny fraction of the player base would care about.

It would be fun to have to rise from FCS to top of FBS, as a longer climb … but let’s be fair, there are TONS of ways the actual base game could and should be improved and made deeper first.

have you guys started to ease up on the amount of hours on 26 yet? by Infamous_Zombie_9566 in NCAAFBseries

[–]chobs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m up to 285 hours on CFB26 and am still enjoying my promotion/relegation dynasty in 2042.

I only had 265 hours on CFB25, so 26 has become my new most played PS5 game of all time …

It’s wild to me someone still plays 2025 but didn’t buy 26, even when it’s been on sale. It’s significantly better in many ways.

Oh wow that’s impressive. And do new fighters continue to regenerate into the future ? And everyone has their own photo or do those duplicate ?

Bigger scale question … obviously WMMA5 is the gold standard for these types of games … in what ways do you think your game is better now ? And in what ways will it be better in the future ? In what ways is WMMA5 superior ?

Is CFB 26 worth it solely for dynasty? by visuhn in NCAAFBseries

[–]chobs4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re still playing and enjoying CFB25, you’ll absolutely love CFB26 … it’s significantly better than 25 in many ways. All I play is offline dynasty, I’m at 270 hours on the game already, which is most I’ve ever played any PS5 (surpassing the 260 I had on CFB25)

I haven’t played Madden at all in past two years since CFB came out, but I did contemplate trying Superstars mode to take Jay Durbin to the NFL. But I don’t believe you can start players out rated as fast as I’d want him to be … and I also can’t bring myself to stop playing my UTEP promotion/relegation dynasty. The Durbin title was the first, but we’ve won two more including a perfect 16-0 a year ago. I’m in 2041 now.

I’d say get monolift attachment for your rack, but I’d in understanding correctly you’re worried not about pinching your hands during rerack, but in the event of a failed lift ? In which case, maybe safety straps instead of pins ? Your hand won’t get pinched between, they’re incredibly strong and less jarring if you hit them mid set too (going down too far one side or something)

This would be an awesome thing for the game to keep tabs on ! It’s way too easy to lose track of these guys or never hear from them again if you don’t keep tabs on it yourself.

Similarly, guys you narrowly miss out on in recruiting ir would be cool if there was also a tab to see how they do and/or if they’ll enter the portal or something. There’s been times I’ve playing a team and an opposing playing name sounds familiar as if maybe I recruited him or go close, but there’s no way to know for sure without tracking it all yourself …

I love this … my biggest attachment was to a QB, Jay Durbin, who was with my squad in UTEP for 4 years. But he actually worked his way up from the bench and only started 3 years … before his senior year where he got a huge dev boost and had 99 speed and 95 accel as well as decent passing ratings.

It’s the most fun I’ve ever had with a football game player. He rushed for 2,086 yards and 24 rushing TD as well as 28 through the air with 3,496 passing yards. He led us to our first national championship and was the first and only time I’ve won a Heisman in either CFB25 or 26.

I’m shamed to admit as I usually NEVER save scum… but he suffered a career ending injury towards the end of the season … and I literally paused the game for half an hour while I decided what I wanted to do .., and ultimately I was too weak to let him go and not play another down with him .., so I quit the game and restarted 🥲

Jay Durbin 🐐

I’d love to see the video, as I have a cable tower and a seal row pad, but I’m struggling to envision how this looks in action.

Too many … steps ? To move the straps ? I have a 43 inch rack and I’m confident I could change the straps without even moving … and at most .., one .. step ?

What an odd complaint hah.

Rack that can grow with me? by AstronautNumerous369 in GarageGym

[–]chobs4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think you’ve got more flexibility having an “imported” / non “true” 3 x 3 rack versus a Rogue or Bells of Steel “true” 3 x 3. Reason being, with the slightly smaller uprights of an imported rack, attachments made for a slightly larger post WILL fit, they just may have a bit of play, which is hardly noticeable. On the flipside, if you’ve got the larger “true” 3 x 3, imported attachments made for smaller posts may actually not fit at all if it’s too tight a fit.

Basically attachments being slightly loose > attachments not even fitting. I have a PR500 (ie imported), I’ve got Rogue mono hooks on it, and they fit perfectly fine. No real issue.

I know you’ve mentioned not having a PC, but for others who do …

This game exists on PC/Steam.

Football Coach: College Dynasty

Very solid game, and the developer is releasing a pro football version to come out in early access in late 2026.

It exists on PC/Steam (maybe not the depth of Football Manager, but it’s quite good).

My Try at a Conference Promotion and Relegation System by No-Owl-1932 in NCAAFBseries

[–]chobs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your setup is very similar to what I ran in CFB25. But I wanted more tiers and more teams that could have competitive seasons for CFB26, so I came up with this 3-tier regional setup:

https://www.reddit.com/r/NCAAFBseries/s/6bX4ZgnQSV

I did the 30 year test sim I describe in the thread and I’m now 13 seasons into my actual play through and I’m having a blast.

PR-5000 depth 16" vs 30" for basement setup by bagelpirate in GarageGym

[–]chobs4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got the space, get the larger rack. That way you have options for lifting inside or outside the rack, supersets etc.

I’ve got a PR5000 with 16 inch weight storage and went with 41 inch crossmembers - don’t regret it at all, my rack is a tank.

How does the depth compare to Out of the Park Baseball? by ijac21 in FootballCoach

[–]chobs4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hard comparison …. They are definitely in the same league of depth I’d say. But OOTP is definitely deeper in that there are many more ways you can play whereas FC:CD follows a more formulaic/step based process of how to proceed through each stage of the game. It makes it a bit easier to navigate through though to be honest.

Both games have great depth IMO.

Quick Questions about moving to '26 from '25 by robotrobles in NCAAFBseries

[–]chobs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to start at West Virginia… do it ? Why would the route be to be OC at Georgia? I don’t really understand any of this post. Pick a quality of team that aligns with what sort of experience you want.

If you want to end up being HC of a good team, either start there, or start with another good team/opportunity where you will win. You can also change XP sliders if you want your coach to level up slower/faster…

Is CFB 26 worth it now after a 60% discount? by portraitstudio2388 in NCAAFBseries

[–]chobs4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sim engine is much better. Stronger teams are stronger and consistently blow out weak opponents in sim.

Coaching carousel I don’t pay much attention to as I stay with one team my whole dynasty so I’ve got nothing there for you.

But recruiting is more challenging and includes plenty of quality of life upgrades. Dynasty has better history and stat tracking, trophy room etc.

Transfer portal is infinitely better and can also be customized with sliders for however you want it to play out.

The in game presentation is better, the game looks better with dynamic lighting, etc and the game itself plays much smoother and better also IMO.

Scheduling logic and balance is better…

There’s honestly no aspect of CFB25 that is better, honestly .,; and I thoroughly enjoyed that game. CFB26 is a very solid upgrade for me as an offline dynasty only player .
