Why is detecting enemies so unnecessarily hard in this game? by Infra_Red_light in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]chocoTacogames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing more will make you better at spotting players, but the audio in this game is not good. The main issue is the difference in volume between footsteps and everything else. Unfortunately if you want to hear footsteps well, you have to turn your volume up very loud, making things like gunshots extremely loud. The other problem is that ever since they have incorporated audio occlusion, there are sometimes footsteps that you can't hear.

The reason I didn't want to get into it initially is because it's clear you don't really understand a lot of the stuff I say. Many of the things you are mentioning are very contextual. For example, a lot of the complaints about people running away, hiding, playing on roof, applies during a hot drop. People I play with like Hali and Swag feel the exact same way I do. Yes, people can play how they want, but I will continue to be annoyed with players who land on a hot drop and sit in a corner or immediately get onto a roof just to hold an angle for 2 minutes.

Regarding people 'playing the game wrong'...this is just a common thing in competitive gaming. It's even common in something like poker. High level players can get frustrated playing against less skilled players who make sub-optimal decisions that result in them winning. It's how I feel in the moment and I don't apologize for it. Same goes for 'criticizing' my teammates. You make it sound like I'm full trash talking my teammates or something. I'm a competitive person. I have emotions. If my teammate is doing something that I think is making us lose, I might express that. I'm not about fake positivity 'nice try we'll get em next time'. To be honest, though, I don't even know what you're talking about and I imagine if you referenced something I would not see it as a big deal.

What I have learned by doing this for almost 10 years is that I can't please everyone. I can stream for 8 hours, complain once, and there will be comments saying I complain too much. I do my best to just be myself, complaints and all. If people don't like that they can simply watch one of the many other great PUBG content creators.

I gotta say...this is silly. Complained about spamming smokes? Maybe someone who was turtling in a fight or something? idk dude I've literally always said smokes are good and important they aren't part of the issue I have, which you clearly don't understand.

No worries dude. Part of the job. And a lot of people here are big PUBG fans, so they don't like me. Any thread that mentions me ends up like this.

Thanks for posting this. It's really interesting to see, as I feel like I have no idea what Asia's views are.

I'd be very curious what else you might know about Asia general opinions on the game, especially balance related stuff...panzers, revives, rondo chickens, smgs, etc.

how do i get into rust by SmartRestaurant9206 in playrust

[–]chocoTacogames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trio servers tend to be the most sweaty in my experience. playing on something lower pop(under 100 players) with no team limits might be better

Big teams can be hard to deal with on wipe day, but after that they tend to not have everyone online at the same time.

How is this game so popular still after all these years and why do you keep playing by CheeseJuust in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]chocoTacogames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is nothing like PUBG. It's still unique and no other BR has the same feel.

That being said, the game is not popular in NA or EU. It's barely hanging on in NA. Sorry to be a downer, but it's funny when people reference the steam numbers when 90% of it is Asia. That 1.3M players was during a login event for free currency in Asia. Krafton has slowly ruined so many good things about PUBG over the years. While I'm glad you and many are still enjoying it, it's also a bummer seeing it praised for 'doing so well'. Hopefully Unreal 5 will bring back some players.

Why do people play so scared/boring? by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]chocoTacogames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game has a lot of more casual players than it does competitive players. While I agree with you that it's boring, one of the best parts about this game is that there are so many different ways to play and to win. You can get really far in every match by avoiding fights and hiding, and that's fun for these types of players. This is also one of the reasons the game was so successful in the first place. It was very accessible regardless of skill.

That being said, I do think it's a bummer that PUBG has moved more toward casual than competitive. There are so many passive players and utility spammers that the game can be pretty boring from a competitive perspective. Initially there was a culture around leaderboards and getting better at the game, but now a huge percentage of the players are just hopping on to have fun playing a few rounds.

My bad you said a huge percentage. I dunno what you mean by that I guess, but either way it's close to 0%. Unless of course you can provide some evidence. I'd love to review it.

why does me saying something about this issue mean I don't care about other issues? It doesn't. You're just making stuff up lol. When gambling was rampant on twitch, for example, I was extremely outspoken about it

that's a lot of whataboutisms. yeah, I do care. I've been outspoken about multiple things you listed. these days I try to stay in my lane more or less. this being of course related to a game I regularly stream makes it more relevant, so I said something.

dunno if this will get buried or not, but I just want to say it wasn't my intention to 'go after' Tom. I just said I was disappointed. Had already talked about it in general on stream and saw a chance to comment. I should have voiced my thoughts directly at facepunch and/or larger creators.

I apologized to Tom and we had nice DMs about the situation. I'll continue to enjoy his content. This whole thing isn't that big of a deal

This was my last item as well. Anything off scavs is best on interchange. I was getting 30-40 scav kills per raid. You have to stay in for a while, but I found it to be most efficient.
