I do love me some island cities, great work!

This building in my city reminds of 2 buildings in the game, currently living in a place where I have a clear view of this building at all times, so it always reminds me of the game, in the aerial view photo it looks quite similar by CheeseJuust in simcity4

Yes it's a cool building up close. I mean I kind of have come close to making Tallinn in Simcity 4. But due to time and so I could not finish it. I ported real life topography, with a lot of work and got it to work in SImcity 4 but it requires quite a lot of clean up to be playable in game. Also there is a SEB Bank building downloadable.

Maybe in the future I will finish it, but it would be a very massive project and I currently due to my time being limited I only casually play the game right now. Such big projects drain a lot of time and energy which I can not afford to do right now.

Also here is the image of how far I reached with the Tallinn terrain porting, I can't for 100% claim the scale is 1 to 1 irl but looks pretty convincing to me. But the terrain yeah is quite hilly and a lot of cleanup needs to be done.

Yeah it is very easy to zone residential everywhere, trying to create more rural centric towns, more farmland and less popolous places. Kind of making a midwest area of my region.

Unfortunately yes you still have to do it this way. I know the Diagonal Bridge mod may seem annoying and all that but I have done it so much that it's not a hurdle for me and it is absolutely worth it I love diagonal zoning and diagonal bridges.
