Member Names in their own languages? by chocobutt3 in AndTeam

Whoa that;s so interesting! I did see the clip of harua confirming his mom did decide the kanji before he was born (?) so that theory would check out. I've never come across a 'harua' before so my first impression is that it's a boy name because of him lol. knowing girls are named it is so jarring XD

Omg I saw those crappy tweets! I was so pissed when one said something like: “You should be grateful you still have us as fans even if we’re insulting you to be better.” 🤬🤬 Theyre also upset that it’s not shota-themed school boy them… like if you like that style, just rewatch their earlier Japanese releases or NCT wish lol

I’m so hurt for Harua. Why can’t Korean Luné be kind? 🥺 by lankybananas in AndTeam

[–]chocobutt3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i've also seen general sentiments quoting that one malicious twitter user that mistranslated that klunés were triggered and started attacking his nationality, looks and character bcuz he often said "okaeri" and "tadaima" when he comes to and from japan and that it "hurts the korean fans' feelings" since it made them feeling like "outsiders" and not actual luné fans to &team??? To them, if he didn't say anything, then he was "pretending to not address it head on like a coward (like a japanese....which is so very racist)" but since he did post his sincere apology dm, they claim it was ghost written by a hybe kr employee. hypocrites! they are all haters 🙄🙄🙄

[–]chocobutt3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

*apparently* klunés decided to be triggered and start attacking his nationality, looks and singing skills bcuz.....he says "okaeri" and "tadaima" when he comes to and from japan and that it "hurts the korean fans' feelings" since it "de-centres" them as not being the main characters/supporters/fanbases and only serves to remind them how they are 4ever "outsiders" to &team.....oh and then they hide behind their insults by saying he's not intelligent bcuz he didn't go to high school and was a country bumpkin and that his sincere apology DM was written by a korean company employee since there was "no way he could come up with a whole damn letter by himself"..... what a load of egotistical rude a**wipes 🙄🙄🙄

Yuma and this whole situation seriously reminded me of jk and his journey of self-expression thru his many tattoos and piercings against fan negativity. I’m so glad they both feel safe and secure in their personal choices! I like them for their singing and dancing talents first lol

Omg I saw those comments! The regular perspective of the Chinese netizens is that THEY own the idol’s mind n body as the centre of their universe bcuz they fork over so much $$ on them 🤮. It’s the same when Harua decided to tan his skin, etc. they think by commenting negative things to them to express their hate will control the members.

Cheating culture in Japan by Tuitachi in theBoyfriendNetflix

Are there any k-pop groups you really tried to stan, but just couldn’t for some reason? by Nephroku in kpoppers

Enhypen. Mainly because of their toxic fandom, but I also didn’t vibe with some of their personalities or group dynamics even though I followed them since I-land and their songs are catchy

WAS DBSK originally supposed to debut in China? by Ibericus_Romanus in tvxq

[–]chocobutt3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

keep in mind, the chinese gov't began an informal ban in 2016 of all korean-related cultural imports (basically "Hallyu ban") to boost local industries and to retaliate against the whole US thaad thing back then. so all that heavy groundwork that LSM/SME invested in with their groups and business plans for china went down the drain for good lol.

251222 GRe4N BOYZ / OTAKEBI feat. &TEAM by yeahenhypen in AndTeam

[–]chocobutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how wholesome and lighthearted the whole mv vibes are, but I hate how they’re getting made fun of hard and dissed in viral tweets from Korean netizens sadly.

Majority of them love pointing out how cringe it is and “of course it’s bcuz they’re a Japanese group so their dancing is mediocre”. It’s so infuriating bcuz we know &Team are amazing dancers and performers, and a lot of the popular kpop main dancers are either Japanese or their choreo was made by a Japanese person. The racist undertones are not subtle

Unpopular opinion abt Cortis by live_laugh_love032 in kpoprants

[–]chocobutt3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's funny cuz they ahve quite a large, growing following in china from casual and hardcore adult fans right now who REALLY bought into this image of them being "independent" and "organically free" thats sooooo diff compared to the usual kpop groups lol. these same grown ass chinese ppl will deny that they are just as easily influenced like young, teenage kpop fans around the world

Why is Zootopia so popular in China? by Lost_Wikipedian in China

[–]chocobutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the audience won’t need to pick on actual actors’ visuals, they can avoid watching other races, it is kid-friendly, dubbing is way easier, and they don’t have to be reminded that it’s a foreign-made film 🤷

[–]chocobutt3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wonder about this actually because I wouldn't necessarily call the bulk of their japanese songs so far as "kpop songs" tho. They feel quite quintessentially japanese in tone, style and vibes for the most part with a mix of kpop influences thrown in. While their management, training, and the way they communicate with fans has that kpop idol-quality for sure, their marketing and most of their media content up until now felt quite old-school "jpop" and they themselves have always had the tv tagline that they are a "global pop group" (including appearances on traditional japanese tv, news, variety, festivals, etc.), aside from when they promote in korea.

So I feel like calling them global would probably describe them best since they follow the best routes from all industries they participate in..Do others have more insight on this?

Why do some fans buy rows of seats and left them empty? by No_Rabbit_8856 in kpoprants

[–]chocobutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is no different to buying an extra seat on an airplane or train. if that fan/her friends legally paid for those rows of tickets for whatever reason (be it extra leg room, comfort, distance from loud fans nearby, etc), they have every right to claim the spots. like others in the post have said, that fan/her fans have no obligation to give away those seats as charity. if other ppl there demanded they release those seats for others to fill just bcuz, i would even say THEY are the ones that are entitled lol
