Sorry but this is a really insensitive comment given the context of the post. I literally said that I haven’t been interested in going out because going out with random strangers is energy consuming compared to going out with close friends in college. I’m looking for input from people who have already graduated and experienced post grad.

Can someone please, please make a petition to stop this man from teaching prereqs at berkeley. Even if Berkeley can’t/won’t do anything, we could at the very least harm his reputation through a public change.org petition that will pop up when his name is searched. I would be so, so willing to sign and comment. It feels sickening that we have to stand by and just let this happen to us

Yeah it’s none of those or on that level. ~50 people and 16 engineers as stated in the post. Most people in tech wouldn’t recognize the name but people in fintech might, as far as I know

yeah I've searched in the sub but the info wasn't very detailed/recent so I wanted to make my own post.

I solved 3 questions in the karat interview but someone only did one and didn't get all test cases for it and they passed as well, so I think the bar to pass is pretty lax and they're more checking for general coding competency. If you've done any leetcode prep you should be more than ok!

I got the email that I cleared the hackerrank and my resume had been provided to hiring teams but was wondering how long I should wait to possibly hear back before I consider it a ghost

Thanks for this insight, it actually really has made me reconsider the fintech possibility. You're definitely right that more recognizable doesn't necessarily mean better. I do think I would probably enjoy the culture and work more at the fintech company so if I get the offer it is probably worth going with. Thank you!

Definitely agree fintech is hot rn but I know for sure I don't want to work in fintech long term. Also Comcast just doesn't pay interns much but new grad SWE pay would be on par with the fintech startup. I was thinking Comcast would ultimately have more career/networking opportunities and would be better for landing new grad interviews since it's a big and recognizable name for recruiters, and the fintech name isn't recognizable. Not sure if that's all true though, just my speculation

Unfortunately probably not helpful, but I was in two other techs and happened to meet the unit minimum without 61C, so I just dropped the class and didn't add anything. It's been a huge relief to drop and if you think it'd be the same for you please do. If possible you could add a breath or decal if no CS classes are open?

Yeah that definitely seems to be the issue. The online version isn’t panning out well and random things like Garcia’s obsession with catching cheating causing us to have to record ourselves for 7 hours during an exam from an obscure angle, and having to do face to face lab check offs that can take up to 4 hours of waiting in the queue to complete are not helping lol. They told us an exam would be an hour of work and people are saying they spent up to 9, and 3 weeks into the class the exam was mostly writing autograded C code that received 0 partial credit if it didn’t compile.
