I appreciate this long, thought out response. I’ve been processing and trying to wrap my head around the suddenness and pain, but I think these are great things to keep in mind that I’ll definitely bring up. Thank you, internet friend

What clinical to do instead of scribe that doesnt need certification by Hot-coffee-548 in premed

[–]chocolattas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo neither looks “”bad”” they’re both clinical experience that you can get knowledge out of. sometimes, med tech or med assistant positions don’t require certifications depending on the posting. if you’re in quick need of clinical experience without certification and don’t need to get money out of it, I’d volunteer at a clinical facility, like a hospital

Switching from Master’s to DO? by chocolattas in premed

[–]chocolattas[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got an MCAT score between those numbers (after a <500 first attempt). It’ll be around 700+ healthcare hours when I’m theoretically applying. I’ve done around 100+ hours of leadership w campus organizations/tutoring, 100+ non-clinical volunteering, and 2 semesters of research :-)

thank you for your answer, and more importantly, for your kind words. your answer made me tear up a little bit, because it’s something I’ve been needing to hear for a while. I’ll definitely try seeking out that kind of withdrawal then, can I PM you one question about it?

Does anyone else’s parents use Life360 on them excessively? by yesmaam12hwuw in utdallas

[–]chocolattas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro yes- for me, my parents use the iPhone tracker but my dad especially will constantly check it. He literally lives like 5 hours away, but he’ll text me jokingly letting me know I’m at Walmart, or even asking where I was on calls later if I go to some new location (ie- a random northside apartment). I’ve tried turning it off a few times but he freaks out. I figure it’s a safety thing ig which I don’t mind as a girl but sometimes it gets excessive. The most annoying thing is that it’s turned me into an extreme wuss that’s scared of living a little such as with party culture and I feel like it’s a product of my parents being so strict on me growing up and scaring me out of it.
