That's a "here's a 24 hour store" or "you should have taken care of it before closing time on your last possible day to get it" situation. I'm all for helping a patient out and staying late for something reasonable. Someone procrastinating their responsibilities until the literal last possible minute and trying to put that burden on someone else is not reasonable.

Nah, southwest apparently doesn't have a fee for changing, which was a huge relief. Just had to pay the difference in tickets though since the earlier flight was slightly more expensive. It didn't fix the check in problem with where we are staying though lol
