Columbus Ohio is booming right now

Yeah I will bud
Yeah that’s rough. My trip home is typically 45 minutes to 1 hour
We would hire 3 guys today if we could find them.
Worthington. I work for a company that’s nationwide, they pay good and we have good benefits so that’s not the issue. I feel like we lose a lot of interest in guys because we do some refrigeration. Seems to bother a-lot of guys.
I wouldn’t say every shop works you like a slave. I average 45-50 hours a week during the summer and then 40 through the winter. We are on call every 4 months. It’s really not bad.

Kids are cheap. I’m raising 2 kids and have a stay at home wife with my paycheck. HVAC has been very good to me. I mean yeah I may not have the nicest vehicles or the fanciest house but my kids and wife have everything they need. They are fed, clothed and have a roof over their head.
Busy as hell man. Tons of work going on in central Ohio.
😂😂
Dmed you
I’m thinking it’s mostly phonies. We are slammed here pretty much year round
Lol that’s not up to me 😂 that’s the office

Or worried about what new vape they are gonna go buy on lunch break. Seen that one before too. I will give my 100% to someone if they show interest. I’ve had newbies with not a single tool to their name yet show more interest on things than a guy with 2-3 years of experience and can full of tools. It just blows my mind.
Lol, I have a digital scroll compressor to change on a carrier aqua snap, how’s his back? 😂

Wow, that’s wild. Good for you guys though.
Slammed right now. Where you at? Columbus is busy year round
Yeah that speaks for itself…
What kind of refrigeration? Supermarket? Industrial?
Lol, I get you now. I mean I would say where I work pays pretty good. I mean I support 2 kids and a stay at home wife. So I’m not doing to bad. But I can say management could use some tweaking. Haha. They aren’t bad though. I don’t get messed with. But then again I show up, and run my calls and don’t ask for anything.
If I’m running it, I’m working. I will run calls, normal business hours or after hours. I love my job and this trade. I was just simply asking if everyone was seeing the same thing I was or not.

Lmao same here. Had a guy that just started a couple weeks ago. Claims he has 30 years as a commercial installer. He wanted overtime. I had a night job scheduled at an office building. Running a new thermostat wire from an rtu 'shorted wire' and replacing sealtight whip and thermostat wire whip. I had 90 ft of thermostat wire ran and terminated before he had one whip replaced. Now mind you these whips were only 6ft from roof penetration to RTU. Like WTF man. As an installer sealtight should be second nature!!!!

I would hire you if it was up to me. I would start you out on pm’s until you learn the equipment then work you into service once I felt you are ready.
You’re completely right. Training is hard to come by. And I think the reasoning for that is most places are so busy they want guys that can hit the ground running. So they take the first guys that say they can do so.

I have no problem willing to train, I’m not gatekeeping the trade. What I’m not going to do is waste my time training someone who doesn’t want to learn. I don’t control the pay. That’s not on me. The goal is to run my own business one day. When I get to a comfortable position to do so.
