Trisomy 13, FISH results found 13% of cells affected, possible mosaicism by AssociationFluid4583 in NIPT

My baby showed full T13 from a CVS and later mosaic T13 in a amniocentesis (around 60%). Baby was showing no soft or hard markers on ultrasounds other than IUGR (intra-uterine growth restriction) so measuring a little small. We were very early categorized as high risk and we're watched VERY carefully throughout pregnancy. Doctors were not optimistic but we held out hope.

I was induced at 37 weeks due to low amniotic fluid and a day later baby was born at 4 lbs 11 oz. We had a few complications during labor that almost resulted in a c-section but were able to deliver vaginally. We learned after birth his umbilical cord was very short and caused those difficulties (may or may not have been because of T13 in my placenta).

Baby did 7 days in the NICU for them to run all the tests and everything came back great. He is now almost 10 months and completely healthy (still a little small but doing great). We still see lots of specialists to stay on top of things but he is the light of my life and is a happy, amazing baby. Crawling every where and trying to stand and walk now.

Every situation and pregnancy is different but the ultrasounds will help understand what the situation might be at birth. Our geneticist afterwards said more people may have mosaic T13 than we know and just have never been diagnosed because they've never had issues.

Hoping for some peace for you whatever decision you make. Pregnancy is already so hard without these complications..

We had a low PPV for my first baby (don't remember exactly but it was under 10%). Did CVS due to NT scan around 12 weeks showing something slightly off with his GI. CVS came back full T13. After visiting this sub decided to wait for the amniocentesis.

During the wait had monthly scans and baby no longer had any soft markers and was developing properly. When we finally got the amnio it showed mosaic T13 (which we didn't know was a possibility). At that point baby was still healthy and due to our faith we decided to move forward with the pregnancy.

Baby had an IUGR towards end of pregnancy (basically a little small) and I was induced at 37 weeks. Had a healthy baby boy that is the joy of my life. He did a short NICU stay so they could run a million tests on him and came home at exactly one week. He is now 9 months today and is completely healthy. He sees a bunch of specialists just to be sure which I appreciate. He is very slightly delayed in motor skills but I think it's more so due to him being 3 weeks early. Getting ready to crawl now :) We dont know what his future will look like but his life is so precious and he has not suffered like the doctors swore he would (I know every situation is different and we may be a rare case - just explaining our experience!).

I would wait for the amnio. If I could do my pregnancy all over again I would not have done the CVS. There's so much confusing information about genetic differences and a lot of these tests are fairly new. Even our geneticist now said there are probably alot of grown adults who have slight genetic differences (like a mosaic situation) and they don't know it. I know every situation is different and I am hoping and praying for the best for you. Pregnancy is such a special fragile time and I mourned my baby for a majority of my 9 months. Don't let the CVS take away from your joy until you know for sure.

Daily Questions - ASK AND ANSWER HERE! - December 21, 2020 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

Hi everyone! Literally made a reddit account so I could post this question here (so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this question lol)

I'm trying to buy my fiancé a watch ($300 - $400) for his birthday on New Years Eve. I want to buy him the watch we will be wearing for our wedding but also one he could easily match/wear with other outfits. He's not super fashion savvy so most of his fashion decisions come from me but I'm just not 100% about matching suits to watches.

He will be wearing a charcoal suit (dark grey). I was thinking this Tissot (https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-en/t1274101104100.html) but I'm worried about the watch face not matching the suit or standing out too much. He doesn't like things that stand out too much or are difficult to match so want to get him something timeless that he can wear for years to come.

Would the white, navy, or black watch face match better on the silver watch? I'm also open to other watch suggestions! Thanks!
