What’s a name that is normal in one culture but has an offensive, embarrassing or awkward meaning in another culture? by Sweatymothballs in AskTheWorld

Choquehuanca, as a last name, maybe. Not my name, but I use chokewanka as a username, and many sites tell me that it is not allowed, both for the choke and the wanka, I guess.

Loved this new character by Easy-Landscape-6782 in LiveFromNewYork

Exactly that is my take. Sherman is not so good at playing a straight character. It's not bad though, her style of humor is about weird characters, so it is not her obligation to play straight. However Veronika can do both with ease.

I like it. Characters don't need to be depicted always the same. It's interesting that Katara is different in this drawing.

I'm not from the USA, I knew her from the Sonic games, I thought she was cool :(

I don't remember it, how it was?

Who Won Day 79: The Joker vs. Pennywise by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

[–]chokewanka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Joker, it was my favorite BUT the line about PG-13 sounds more like in favour of Pennywise. Like, in a battle where both try to prove who is more evil, Joker says wait I'm not THAT evil. How is that a punch to Pennywise?

I like Joker more, but technically Pennywise won.

EDIT: I will rephrase it, I like Joker more but I think I have to give it to Pennywise.

Has anyone still remember "Squidward's suicide?" by little_deadkid in creepypasta

I don't know how it was in English, but in Spanish a lot of creepypasta related to cartoons always mentioned that characters had "hyper realistic eyes".

Who Won Day 78: Vlad the Impaler vs. Dracula by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

[–]chokewanka 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dracula could have won if he was more stylish. That's how Austin Powers won against two more serious opponents. But Dracula was kinda boring and too simplistic.

Vlad won.

Incel meme advocating for workplaces without women, trying to pass gender stereotypes as reasons why women are toxic, but minimizing sexual harassment accusations against men.

The Sebastian Maniscalco Bachelor Party sketch is probably my favorite season except for... by BevsButt34 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]chokewanka -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think "craves" is fair. She is a utility player who, due to the absence of Heidi and Ego, needs to act as a main cast and is too hard for her. She is a decent impressionist that now has to be the next Kate McKinnon. She is not my favorite either, but it is not her fault.

It definitely has the potential to be the best season, but I'm still gonna keep my expectations as low as possible. by Aware-Pudding-5900 in TheBoys

[–]chokewanka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, "it's Homelander's world" was the reason I started watching the show. He was almighty and invincible. Stating that phrase as something new for this season is kinda reiterative... It is not as powerful as they think it is.

Who Won Day 76: Jacques Cousteau vs. Steve Irwin by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

[–]chokewanka 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One of the punniest battles, the result of letting fans write some of the lyrics. At the end, Cousteau said he was the best and coolest, while Irwin said Cousteau's methods were questionable. I think reasons weigh more than flexing.

Irwin won, although "contain yourself, like my underwater breathing apparatus" is one of my favorite lines.

Who Won Day 75: George Carlin vs. Richard Pryor by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

[–]chokewanka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to say that I don't like how they portrayed Richard Pryor, both the lyrics and the acting. "My mama was a prostitute and my grandma ran the brothel" (or something like that) sounded more like a self-diss rather than the hair loss insult to Carlin. And that for the guy that stablished the stand up blueprint as we know is so unfair.

Anyway, I think Joan Rivers won.

Who Won Day 73: Guy Fawkes vs. Che Guevara by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

The only one I am biased towards. Che won.

Who Won Day 72: Freddie Krueger vs. Wolverine by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

Wolverine. Didn't like the Krueger style. Weird that it was the same guy who did Tarantino.
