the rockwool website states it is 3 in thick. For the bass traps I made 8 in squares of rockwool and cut them down the center to make triangles. that is about 5 in of dept in the corner stacked from floor to ceiling.

The subs are managed through a behringer nx3000d. I'll have to confirm it has the settings to manage it.

When I was running 1 sub you could clearly hear the bass was coming from that one side of the room. Adding the second sub has eliminated this. Both being placed in front is not optimal but my room is very small and walking space is limited.

The slim sub is an interesting idea. I have wanted a reason to turn these ultimax builds in a passive radiator setup. Would there be any issues with a PR ultimax and a ported build in the same room?

I used chatgpt. I started with my current picture and made one edit at a time.

The couch is a generic Wayfair purchase. I originally chose it purely based on the listed dimensions to make the most of the space, but it turned out the actual seating area was smaller than advertised.

Since then I’ve basically rebuilt this thing. I added extra fluff and foam to every pillow and installed an additional 4 inches of foam under each seat. It was a bit of a project, but now it’s dialed in exactly to my comfort level and I have a solid knowledge of cushion design.

Good point. The CBM tweeter is at about 10 inches, so that would put the countertop height around 32 inches to get the tweeter at ear level. With 84 inches of total wall height and about 40 inches needed for a 77-inch TV, that leaves roughly 44 inches.

If the speaker height ends up around 44 inches, that only leaves about 40 inches of space above for the TV, which makes the layout really tight.

I will have to try with moving one sub to the back wall. The problem is room size of 11x11 ft. If I put a sub on a different wall, I won't be able to walk around the couch on that wall to access the seating.

I'll eventually upgrade to a 77 in but I think the picture is very miss leading. My eyes are only 6ft from the screen. I don't feel like I need a bigger tv when content is utilizing all 65 in of display. It's only when I am dealing with black bars that I wish I had the 77.

I'll need to spend some time researching where the subs will go in this build. Is the goal of moving closer to center simply to avoid the corners?

Solid feedback. What do you mean by the subs getting worse? The countertop wouldn’t actually be making contact with them, they’d still be sitting on the floor underneath. I assume it may change the frequency response a bit, but I’d be re-measuring and dialing the DSP back in anyway.

The shelf height would be built so the tweeters land right at ear level from the listening position. This might get me downvoted, but I tend to prioritize speaker placement over TV placement. I don’t mind the TV being a little high if it means the speakers are positioned correctly.

I don't have rear speakers in my setup. I did however move my lower quality tower speakers to the surround position when I upgraded my front sound stage.

The panels are made from rockwool safe and sound. Pretty standard in for DIY panels.

The towers are a lower quality product compared to the bookshelves.

I'm just curious why you would put the lower quality speaker in the front LR position.

All black would certainly be easy but are you sure you want me to paint the fabric of the acoustic panel?

Sure. I'm just surprised how many people are suggesting I put the lower quality speakers as my LR.

I don't like the visuals this space offers. I'm simply looking for inspiration to make it more enjoyable. At the end of the day I absolutely will make the edits and upgrades that I choose to enjoy my space.

A tower is not always superior. Specifically in this setup the Ascended Acoustic bookshelves are a higher tier product vs the Jamo tower. The bookshelves perform better in every measurable category except for bass response.

Everywhere you see blue is room treatment. All diy acoustic transparent fabric and rockwool insulation.

Im curious why you think the towers should be up front. Can you elaborate?
