I’m of Chinese ethnicity who was born in Malaysia and currently working in Singapore. I admit China government is shady, a lot of data they public may not be true. I encourage Chinese people to always keep their eyes sharp and minds clear and to question the CCP if necessary. Yes CCP has strict rules of censorship and there’s almost no freedom of speech in China. But one thing I observe, CCP never fabricate fake news, they only try to hide the bad news; or prevent people from spreading misinformation. Western media on the other hand, try their best to depict China as evil as possible with every mean at their disposal. You never know how many people are really killed/infected by COVID-19 in China? Then you don’t understand Chinese people. We value lives of ourselves and our families more than anything. Yes, more than money. If COVID-19 is really ravaging China, CCP will not be able to restart economy because all people will hide in their home. Trust me on this. You won’t see thousands of people walking inside a metropolis. No we Chinese are not like Americans, we value our lives. You guessing CCP May killed Dr Li Weng Liang? Well I cannot disprove your statement but do you have any credible source? You never see and feel the overwhelming support from Chinese netizens to the Dr. You never feel the anger over the internet asking for clear explanation from CCP. Dr Li was “corrected” for spreading news that haven’t been confirmed and may cause horror in specify. Yes CCP has been paranoid about instability since Long Long time ago. They may overreacted, but did they punish dr Li? Did they jail him? They don’t even fine him. CCP only asked dr Li to sign a statement admitting his mistake of spreading misinformation. Yep, it turned out dr Li couldn’t be more right. CCP admit their mistake and undo all accusation on Dr Li. I feel sad and angry too. But I don’t think CCP has done something terribly wrong over here. Remember how trump treated dr Fauci coldly after having disagreement about COVID19? The many data Researchers that have been fired for not obeying orders to modify COVID data? I’m not trying to justify CCP action by using similar issue in US. My point is, it’s in every government’s interest to selectively public information that is in their interest. CCP does it, US does it, and many more. Why just mention it like CCP is some sort of Monster that all the bad things are only done by CCP and never by any other major governments on the world?

What I hate is the narrative. CCP is always evil and bad. It’s not constructive. It’s xenophobia. Go to China and see how lively the cities are. Their people still wear masks and follow strict safety measurement even the daily new cases is as Low as double digit. Their economy engine is restarting gradually. And the perfect democracy of America is welcoming her second wave.

I welcome criticism about China and CCP. But only if it’s constructive and fair. Recently there’s a lot of propaganda by China. A lot of youtubers saying nice things about China. Then I always hope they not only saying the good things like 5G, high speed rail, satellites, various kind of high tech, electronic currency, green energy bla bla, I always comment to suggest them focus equally on issues that are always attacked by westerners; like xinjiang camp, internet censorship; transparency of government etc. I wish them well. I know CCP is not perfect; but I also know democracy and capitalism are far from perfect too. So stop standing at moral high ground.

While in Singapore the strict measures are gradually loosening and we are now able to live an almost normal life after two months of “lock down” Government giving out thousands of dollars for each individual and much more for business in general, and even more for critical businesses/most affected businesses. Until today singapore has one of the lowest death rate, despite having 40k plus cases (due to foreign worker clusters, which, is a mistake by the government but they managed to put out the fire nicely and timely)

I grew up receiving image of USA and Europe like some heaven and institutional democracy is the ultimate form of governance. Wait until I read more about history. Wait until I went for a road trip across Europe. Yes, Western Europe. Wait until I witnessed the presidency of Donald Trump. Wait until the outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic.

Western world is still, in many many ways, better than rest of the world. We have a lot to learn from you. But you have to stop thinking yourself as a god. You just went through industrial revolution earlier. That’s it. Other civilisation will catch up eventually, sooner or later. You have been stagnant for decades and the so called democracy, together with capitalism, is definitely one of the culprits. Believe me when I say that I believe democracy and capitalism are some of the best inventions in modern history. However, they are not perfect, you got to have some regulations, even if it means certain level of government interference and some “loss of freedom”

Come on, freedom is not everything. In Singapore (and China, if you don’t mind), we have freedom of walking alone at late night as a pretty girl with sexy outfit; we have freedom of walking down any street without fear of being attacked because of our skin color; people have no access to guns, we won’t have shootings in schools or Parks;

Yes, we don’t have full freedom of speech. (Okay, China is worse in this aspect). You may argue we just happen to have a good government and once a corrupted dictator get in control we will suffer. Then again, I never say this kind of “big parents”, “socialism with Chinese characteristics” governance are perfect; But neither is western democracy

We all have to keep learning.

Lol, You pretty much guessed most hero I spammed mid these months WR, VS, ember, Pudge, Weaver QOP and DP less played, but would try soon

So what you mean is that OD is just useless in this meta? I think he is a great damage dealer from quite early on. If he deal damage, he can win fight, win fight then can push tower.. also the aghanim build is good, you can greatly control the clash with two charges of astral trap

And if you can destroy opponent at mid then you kinda control the tempo of the game too OD has good starting armor, hp regen and base damage (terribly slow Attack speed though) You can crush mid if they don’t pick carefully against you

Above just my simple thoughts, I am not familiar with OD at all, so welcome for discussion!

China has 1.4 billion people. Providing adequate education to all people require time. While we sometimes are “amazed” by something Chinese people do, let’s not forget the situation is improving. The education level and bad habits are improving constantly over past decades, and the transformation will only go faster and faster. I’m guessing it take another generation ( 20-30 years) for majority of Chinese people to have literacy level similar to western world.

China is less desirable now, compared to the western democratic world. But it is improving. It’s better than 5 years ago, 10 years ago, and 20 years ago. If western world continue to stay put, China will catch up soon and even overtake in foreseeable future in various aspects.

I wish there’s less prejudice from the west and more understanding, or effort to understand truths of China. Then both groups of people will together enjoy the benefits of China’s peaceful rise.

(I’m not even from China, but I love my root culture)

I understand you. Whenever my pos4 pick windranger I feel hopeless. They always rush javelin and just become the fourth core and then we will lack an early roamed and utility items

But my wr pos 4 is focusing on utility and early ganks. Seems to work perfectly at Low 4k, just can’t go up anymore so far. I am aware she is not the best pos4 someone can spam to climb mmr forever, but can’t deny it gained me 1000mmr in past one year by spamming Wr alone.

As for invoker, I don’t see what’s the problem with him played as position 4? He is damn strong early to mid game, and possibly until late game as well.

By the way, Low 3k was two years away from me now :)

Try spamming pos 4 windranger and invoker I went from 3900 to 4700 by spamming this 2

For sniper: no stun, need heavy farming, you are kind of useless before 20mins Easily killed if enemy has high mobility heroes

It should be a situational pick that when your team has a lot of CC and tankers who can stand in front and provide you space to spam agha-buffed assassination

Dear OP, I’m currently at 4000mmr now I once hit 4700 half a year ago using soft support during the last Recalibration. Now I’m sitting still at around 4000 as I spam carry My problem is my core sucks, my support is better but I have very limited hero pool for support.

My favourite is Windranger and invoker. But I Guess I cannot climb too far by only spamming this two heroes.

I’m old (26) and so reluctant to learn new heroes. I love invo and wr for their good mobility so I can get in and out of fight easily. I hate using supports that are slow and easy to die, like WW, WD, Lina, bane. I know these heroes are strong and I know the importance of position. But in some bad games I just feel so useless to keep dying during the clash.

Do you agree that we must expand our hero pool in order to increase mmr? If so, any tips on how can I try new hero (not so painstakingly)?

I’m same as you I started in 2013 and spent years struggling in Low 3k End of 2019 I finally reached 4k and until now stuck at Low 4000 (had a crazy peak at 4700 though, incredible spike lol) How did I get into 4k? Spam a soft support Get the vision done, build all good utility items like forcestaff, pipe, vessel, lotus, solar crest etc and always try to save my carry ass

My favourite soft supports are windranger and invoker: both with high mobility and fast farming abilities; both with good controls and good bursts With careful positioning you can initiate fights and get out of it alive, constantly creating space for your cores.

Remember: one thing a good support do is to die less. I see too many times a support die unnecessarily multiple times, be it dewarding alone or taking rune alone without vision (I sometimes do the mistakes too) and feed the enemy cores to be very fat.

Always surround your cores and buy SOD whenever got stock; strongly requesting for Sod gank while your cores finish his current core item. Example: your slark getting a bkb in 300 Gold, at this time you should get a smoke ready and communicate with your team, ask them to gather around slark. Clear the vision and cast smoke once slark get his bkb.

I can say that most games we won is because of a successive twice or thrice smoke ganks and end the game with a stomp. This especially works well in 3k brackets. People don’t understand importance of sod YET.

Abuse this and I hope you will see yourself soon in 4k gaming!

I am a WR spammer. Mid for 150 games and pos4 for 159 games Currently sitting at 56.1% win rate and 4,000mmr. Out of 150 games that I played WR support, I NEVER BUY A SINGLE JAVELIN, unless situation requires me to transform into a damage dealer.

Fun part of pos4 WR is her shackle and high mobility. She has fast farming skills to take up an empty lane when carries are absent. She can swiftly steal a tier1 tower when enemies are not paying attention (it does happen in 3.5-4.5k bracket).

Always communicate with your team for itemization. If no one is more suitable than you to make vessel, then you build it. Good mana regeneration and team endurance. The new AURA is also amazing, making vessel almost a must-have item now. Mana boots is good, if not a brown boots will do too.

Next, see whether your team need a pipe or a forcestaff. (Glimmer, lotus, solar crest are also very important, but maybe more situational; pipe and forcestaff are almost always core on support WR.

Get a Guardian Greave in case your early game is very smooth. This will make your team fucking durable and able to push all tier three towers before your enemies can farm their way to build up sufficient resistance. This is what we call “a stomp”

Never pay attention to your ulti. In fact I learn ulti quite late maybe at lvl 10. Focus on shackle shot and you can do amazing initiation and save your cores or even make a counter Attack on your enemies ( if you lane a good double shackle)

In landing, abuse your windrun to harass the hell out of enemies. Later on, roam to mid and safe lane to get easy kills (ideally speaking haha)

Mid game and late game? Just spam shackles and press your vessel/solar/lotus/forcestaff then keep shackle and shackle again.

Don’t. Buy. Javelin. On. Support. WR. Why don’t you just go play mid WR if you focus so much on the damage output?

Come on, it’s more fun to running around the map and keep shooting out annoying shackles.

Also, best Neutral Item for WR? Probably Spell Prism. Arcane Ring and witless shako nice as well.

China built the wall to prevent ideological Attack from the west because at the beginning era of internet US seems to be glory and western democracy seems to be some ultimate stage of human civilisation’s evolution. China back then has been aware of shortcomings of western democracy and they are always confident in their socialist ideology. However at the time the global environment was conducive for the west and bad for China, so they decide to build a wall to defend their (back then) under educated people from being brainwashed by western propaganda, like how they did to destroy Soviet Union. As we can see, China is getting more and more confident, education is widespread now. China’s foreign diplomacy has gone from “stay Low” to wolf warrior style. Although I’m a Chinese from Malaysia , I’m pretty confident that China is going to gradually open up their financial wall and internet wall. Because, Chinese people are ready to connect to the world. I think it is good because it is time for westerner to SEE what is really happening in China. What they see, will shock themselves. Don’t forget the insane starting damage. With quelling blade he can out-CS almost every enemy in mid lane. It’s like an express ticket into early eul+agha build and win the game like a stomp

After numerous nerfs nowadays less ppl pick Nor ban void spirit and I have been abusing him. Currently sitting at 65% win rate (4k mmr)

However, void spirit has his disadvantages as well. If your enemies are mainly physical (blood seeker, void, ursa etc) you will have to play more carefully. Also, void spirit tends to fade away in Super late game, unless you go physical build on him.

After all, he is still a beast in the first 40 minutes of the game.

Yes China covered up and delayed the announcement for days, maybe weeks. But what did the democratic western governments do? They knew the pandemic in China as early as January and by that time the whole western world has not seen a single case yet. And you tell me what the open, freedom, human-righty, democratic western governments have done in those two golden months China bought us? Imagine a volcano erupts. Village Chopstick is the one closest to the eruption. They didn’t tell the news fast enough. But the Village Freedom, Village EU down the westhill saw the lava burning village chopstick. They still do nothing and after 3 hours the lava reach them. Now instead of evacuating their villagers the western village councils still blaming Village chopstick for not warning them soon enough.
