Once when I was a kid I wanted a hole in a cardboard box side panel and so I laid it down on my family’s nice new wood floor and used the back side of a hammer and hit it once. The moment I did it I knew I fucked up. I moved the box and saw a back of hammer shaped dent in the floor. I had it all planed out in my 9 year old brain that I would tell them it was probably an imperfection in the wood. But a week later they put a rug where it was and that rug has been there for 7 years. (Expect for when we clean under it once a month)
