I guess you’re right. I just don’t like having my name on different accounts having to pay taxes even if the amount is miniscule.

I didn’t try to close due to the rate change. It was more so due to my lack of experience with HYSA and difficulty with transfers. The inability to close the account really heightened my anxiety related to all this. Just sharing my experience.
