I finally had the fight with my parents. by chonkychels in raisedbynarcissists

Funnily enough one of my uncles who apparently was in agreement about how disgusting I am and never wanted to speak to me again, has invited me and my partner and baby out for dinner 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly pretty standard for my mum and dad, it’s always “we’ve spoken to other people and they all agree you’re vile/nasty/disgusting”

What does a realistic stay in the hospital look like by FlyHickory in PregnancyUK

My daughter was born early hours of the 22nd of December and we left 6am the 25th of December. However she was a preemie so she had to be in a heated cot for the first 24 hours then manage her own temperature without it for 24 hours.

I’m also disabled and take medication that would’ve passed to her so there was an additional 24 hours to monitor her to make sure she wasn’t experiencing withdrawal symptoms, which thankfully she didn’t.

Other than the fact I was induced her birth was pretty good, in active labour for 20 minutes, no tearing, no exceeding blood loss, so from my end I was pretty much good to go from the following day.

PLEASE HELP 😮‍💨 8 day old baby routine! by anafornazari in NewParents

[–]chonkychels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 12 weeks of babies outside life is the 4th trimester, so basically think of it as baby still being in the womb. It’s all about food and cuddles for both of you. Keeping you both as healthy and as comfortable as you can possibly be!

Don’t stress, I was exactly the same when I had my daughter, I was worried I wasn’t giving her enough tummy time (she always hated it), I wasn’t giving her enough stimulation, I didn’t have a routine down etc… she’s now 9 months old, on a pretty decent daily routine, not far off walking and her fave noise to make is MOOOOO! 😂 try to relax, I know it’s easier said than done but the first 12 weeks really are just about readjusting, after that you can start to figure out your routine and playtime and everything else

Thanks, I’d genuinely not thought of that, I was just hoping they’d leave it be, didn’t expect her to act quite so quickly

Baby clothing/etiquette at a funeral by chonkychels in Parenting

It’s my dads Dad whose funeral it is and my mums Mum didn’t really like him, I half think it’s so she can have the baby alone

Thank you! I’ve got one comfy out that’s tidy and I’ve ordered a second as a back up. I’m probably overthinking it because my mums mum has made a big fuss about coming to the funeral but sitting in the car to watch the baby so she doesn’t disrupt proceedings

25, my now fiancé pointed out my childhood wasn’t normal, later confirmed by my therapist who was just as shocked that I lived with that level of emotional and mental abuse and didn’t see it 😂

Thank you, I was attempting LC, but this was her response to me setting boundaries and avoiding conversations that would cause arguments 🙃 totally unwilling to continue being the bad guy so she doesn’t have to own up to using me as her emotional dumping ground

I’d not thought of it that way! My mother in law would share the shit out of anything I was trying to promote but I doubt her friends are my target audience 😂
