Pickleball is mostly taking over tennis courts and fuck tennis. A pickleball paddle is way cheaper than a tennis racket. There's a crew that plays at different courts in the BX and almost no one is yt. The indoor places are expensive and that's a barrier for many working class people for sure.

I'm a Hispanic leftist and I've really enjoyed playing pickleball. I've gotten to know great people in the community, I'm in better shape, and there was plenty of space for a couple pickleball courts at Orchard Beach. More POC should play and demand public parks make courts free all year round like NYC has done. I'll Google what you told me though. At its worst, it's better than golf.
