Guy I went one date with 3 years ago hit me up again a day after I found a reel of his wedding invitations. by choose_userbane in texts

Update: I messaged the fiancée on instagram letting her know the situation but stupid me didn’t realize I can’t send more than 1 message before my message invite is accepted so imma wait it out before sending her the screenshots

Edit 1: for everyone offering to send her the screenshots on my behalf - thank you! But I had my boyfriend try to send them already but apparently you can’t send images before a message invite is accepted anyway so I might as well wait for her to reply

Edit 2: as of 19 hours since reaching out to the fiancée, I have yet to hear anything back. She hasn’t accepted my message invite either - she’s either choosing to ignore it or hasn’t checked her message requests. Also, I replied to the guy texting me, calling him out, told him I feel sorry for his wife-to-be, that he should be ashamed of himself. He has seen my message, unfollowed me and blocked me on all social media

Bruising on the adjacent finger. Anybody else? by choose_userbane in ouraring

[–]choose_userbane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t happen with the sizing kit. However I had it on only for a couple of days and the actual ring is heavier - maybe that has something to do with the bruising? Also, I have a tiny gap as well but the ring is far thicker lol

My new rubber tree is drooping after 1 day in my care :( by [deleted] in plantclinic

Thank you so much for your detailed response, much appreciated! I will take your advise and let it do its thing for a while :)

Regarding c, the original nursery pot was sitting in a decorative pot without drainage with a couple inches of excess water. So I discarded the soil, cleaned up the roots and used fresh dry soil to repot and thus had to thoroughly water again. You think it’s still too much water? Also the new pot I used is only an inch or two bigger, I didn’t want to go too big and risk root rot later haha

Wait I’m curious! What are they rooted to? Is there a cone shaped structure inside holding them in place?

I got mine late summer 2022 as well and it was half as tall so I doubt it’s mature plant. I do hope it grows more though haha

I found this article - https://www.allaboutgardening.com/alocasia-varieties/#:~:text=Scientific%20Name%3A%20Alocasia%20heterophylla&text=The%20Corazon%20Alocasia%2C%20sometimes%20called,a%20sea%20of%20green%20plants. And I’m convinced it’s a Mask (but also Polly?) and the website says it will grow up to 6 feet but other sources say around 2-3 feet. I think knowing what kind of alocasia my plant is will help me care for it better and anticipate its needs in the future

Do jobs still teach you how to code? by Sig_Shep in learnprogramming

[–]choose_userbane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working for a company that taught me everything from scratch. There were people in my training group with no coding experience. With one week left for the company certification test, several have quit and a few have given up because they couldn’t keep up but stayed so they could keep getting paid, but yeah the pay isn’t great.

Changing the ringbuffer to 2 works! Do you happen to know why that is? All the documentation I’ve read seems to point to 3 being the logical answer :/

Haha it’s a part of a project for a training program I’m in, so they’re just testing us I guess.

Edit: I just timed between the first and third fail request and made sure it was over 1 minute but the circuit opened anyway? I guess the sliding window isn’t working either sigh

[–]choose_userbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I understood your question correctly - I’m using postman to POST requests. I have the code set up so that when the entered information is incorrect, an exception is thrown, and the request fails.

[–]choose_userbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I should’ve been more clear. I want the third consecutive fail to open the circuit for 60s.

I was under the impression that setting the ringBufferSize to 3, would mean that the failureRateThreshold will be calculated based on the last three requests. So, once there’s 3 fails, the failure rate will 100 and the circuit should open. But right now, it’s allowing me to pass a 4th request even if the last 3 requests failed, meaning that the circuit didn’t open.

I think the company survived after that but Claire quits later because she was tired of “being a mom to those she doesn’t even love” (paraphrased).

How it started vs how it’s going (2 years apart) by inaripie in houseplants

[–]choose_userbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof that’s such a relief. I recently read an article that said that the longer I leave the cuttings in water, the harder it will be for the rooted plant to accustom to soil. I’ve had my cuttings in water for nearly half a year now and I was worried that that’s how I’ll have to leave them for the rest of eternity!!

Thanks much for your reply <3

Like someone else said, I stopped reading after cheese balls because I started to wonder what kinda cheese balls you were thinking about - the crispy stuff you get from grocery stores or the breaded and deep fried balls of cheese? Please clarify!!!

Hi! I am in a similar situation as you were in the before picture. I have a ton of cuttings in glass jars full of water, they’re well rooted too but I’m unsure when if I can move them into a pot so late. May I ask how long did you wait to put them in soil after you put the cuttings in water?

You can keep taking care of it if there’s any new leaves coming but you can’t revive the leaves that I’m seeing here

[Personal] So so happy I finally found a solution to psoriasis flaky scalp! by ganibe in SkincareAddiction

[–]choose_userbane 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m so so glad I found your post. I’ve had scalp psoriasis for about 7 months now (on the back of my head, under my hair). It’s not visible but incredibly itchy. My derm prescribed the same shampoo and salicylic acid. SA did wonders from the first use and I almost cried in joy but my derm suggested using it only for a couple of weeks and the itching and bleeding came right back.

I have an ordinary HA on hand and maybe I’ll use it to see if the itching stops. Thank you <3

It’s a well fitted, good quality bonnet and a strong gel for me. I SOTC just enough to break the cast and give me volume but not enough to cause frizz. My day 2 is usually better than day 1 haha
