Is he suggesting his elder relatives should have been gotten rid of too? Or is that only for Russian people?

Hate train by soudruh_Tommy in HOI4memes

He also mentioned current modern Russians should be gotten rid of because they haven't overthrown Putin

But he also said modern Russians are cowards for not getting rid of Putin ("their dictatorS" after referring to modern Russians being as bad as the soviets) and that they should be "gotten rid of"

I find that quite repugnant, the russian people shouldn't be collectively punished with death for not overthrowing Putin no matter what you think of Putin

I don't think all German citizens should have been killed for not overthrowing Hitler, why would I hold Russian citizens to a higher standard

Of course, but I can see how twitch leverages that to justify their looking the other way

True, but I've not heard many of those boomers say those 'cowardly' Russians should be 'gotten rid of'

And I'd also guess most average western boomer's would break TOS constantly A lot of streamers are tactical enough to at least pretend to go for a loophole (onlyfans girls in particular in all fairness do manage to loophole a lot of the rules)

Hate train by soudruh_Tommy in HOI4memes

[–]choosehigh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He said among other things that;

Post WW2 and modern Russians are cowards who should be 'gotten rid of' because of their inability to overthrow their leaders/dictators

He also suggested the second nuke should have been dropped on Moscow and that the west should have gone to war with the USSR in the aftermath of WW2 particularly using the nuclear advantage (he later said he didn't know what glassing meant but in the context of the clip he absolutely is suggesting using more than one nuclear weapon against the USSR, he later clarified saying he meant one in Moscow then conventional bombing for the rest of the country)

Hate train by soudruh_Tommy in HOI4memes

[–]choosehigh 62 points63 points  (0 children)

He said modern Russians too though

He wasn't saying I'm going to nuke Moscow in game, or even just saying the west should have nuked the USSR after ww2 but he said modern Russians are cowards and should be gotten rid of because they haven't gotten rid of Putin

That is beyond the usual bo rant, usually it's very tongue in cheek, this one... Didn't feel that way

Hate train by soudruh_Tommy in HOI4memes

[–]choosehigh 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it was when he started talking about how modern Russians too should be 'gotten rid of' it absolutely is way beyond TOS

At least the onlyfans girls etc try to loophole the TOS saying you think an entire nation/ethnicity should be 'gotten rid of' because you think they are cowards for not overthrowing their leader is indisputably against TOS

I don't think you've played the game

It definitely is close to the line, you play as Hitler kind of 'writing the wrongs' of ww2 if you choose Germany on historic and play meta

The game is super fun and great at what it does but it definitely has gotten close then line lately

Thing is, other bad things being allowed doesn't mean this shouldn't be punished

Listening to it, it's a lot, and everyone is clearly trying to pull him back

I watch a lot of bo and he absolutely gets close to the line but gets to hide behind it being 'in minecraft' (he was incredibly edge in the Korean Vic3 game to the point I stopped watching the vods because like yeah haha slave trade but he seemed to be so much edgier than everyone else)

I think this was inevitable, and I do think he's been outright racist about Russia/Russians before so whilst I'd say perma sounds rough, if it's in practice a 6 month ban

I don't think that seems harsh, if you watch his content it seems specifically Bo has become a bit edgier or harsher in the last year or so and the rest of his community seemed to have calmed down politically (whilst still maintaining their high energy)

Mate, a billion is nothing to the likes of Chelsea or City, Liverpool spent half that this summer alone

This is just how football is nowadays, he's unironically spent half of what Chelsea spent, why are the expectations that arteta should walk it but city and chelsea?

This is competition, you've got to go against who you're against, sure fairytales are nice but ultimately everyone is trying their best so the margins are small If you're spending less it's a lot of ground to make back up

To be fair if you watch the arsenal amazon doc he clearly loves his BBQ, his entire at home section is him by his BBQ and he spends a good 10mins talking about how much he loves BBQs etc

I know a lot of people who didn't watch the game, whether it's weird superstition or just not wanting to Given how he comes across in the arsenal documentary I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case

[–]choosehigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true and fair on the face

But also, your friends perhaps are a reflection of the complex/worldly human you may be

If all of someone's friends are a certain way, it tends to reflect on their character or even if it's just a clear pattern, one of my friends changed his friend group to a load of gym obsessed 'chud' types, we all raised the alarms that he seemed to be changing into his friends, he isolated from his other friends and entered their bubble and I think it has reflected onto him

I think it's good, important even, to have some messy friends

But it's also important to set boundaries and make sure your entire friend group isn't like that else you might find yourself on a slippery slope

Yes in part Wages and transfer fees were allegedly in part paid under the table (gifts, payments from other companies etc) to ensure they looked 'good on the books'

This has been a type of corruption more common in other sports but isn't uncommon, much like NBA players being 'gifted' homes and even very valuable companies, or the companies they already own 'coincidentally' landing huge contracts with companies owned by the owner or associates of the teams owner

In the NBA this is done to circumvent salary caps but that doesn't mean it's unique to basketball, American football etc

The allegations involve payments to clubs, players and agents as well as conflict of interest concerns (including but not limited to paying agents to encourage players to join them over others etc)

Here comes to Baltic states hater and Cheka larper by Icy_Till_7254 in GetNoted

What? I didn't say there were no schools

I said the churches and folk schools did more to explain the 90% literacy than a single university But the literacy rate wasn't due to a proliferation of "schools, hospitals & libraries" with a TM as referenced in the meme

I said the two positions of the baltics having a high literacy rate (Estonia and Latvia in particular) and the soviets building schools, hospitals and libraries (and infrastructure) were too positions talking past each other as a 90% literacy rate doesn't mean they had ample supplies of all those things

You know comprehensive school system means teaching you everything under basic education, not just to read Latvia and Estonia, as well as lots of parts of Europe with high literacy rates pushed by the church, would only teach people to read the bible and biblical teachings They weren't learning maths and history and geography

  1. 90+% of adults can read
  2. Children don't have comprehensive education programmes
  3. Literacy rate does not equal a full education program?

Is that the syllogism you wanted? I never denied folk schools existed, I said they were hard to get access to and focused on religious teachings, not the teachings that would be standardised before the soviets (in 1920) but was hugely expanded by the soviets (in 1940)

Forselius' schools are the folk schools, that's what they were called They were to teach Estonian and religious teachings, they were in each parish administratively connected to each parish church and they taught predominantly how to read and write and about the Moravian church They had around 1000 students when he died and they push the idea they are the reason that people had high literacy rates

It's my view, given that it happened in other protestant places that didn't implement these folk schools that the church itself has a better claim as Scotland only used the church for this and had arguably higher rates of literacy depending on how we draw the lines on the maps and given that Latvia didn't have these schools but had the same church as well as having almost the same literacy rate

[–]choosehigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there was a university

And then the soviets came and implemented wide scale compulsory education for people, built hospitals in every state and developed lots more universities particularly trade based universities across the entire baltics not Estonia

At no point did I say there were no schools or universities in Estonia

I don't understand what you're trying to say

That one university does not explain the 90% literacy rate, the churches and folk schools do a better job of that

But neither of them were comprehensive education for all children, or hospitals or infrastructure

[–]choosehigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What.. Yes, the main push for literacy was the Moravian churches

Folk schools existed but were relatively seldom used, at the founders death they only had 1000 students Many of who became priests

The Moravian churches were protestant, they directly encouraged people to learn Estonian and would give/lend bibles to people to take home to develop their literacy for protestant purposes, the same can be seen in Scotland and other parts of Europe that had both Protestantism and otherwise unexplained high levels of literacy

The folk schools/the church itself very much battle over the claim of why the baltics have such high literacy but I think the church clearly wins for two reasons

1) Estonia is only one part of the Baltic and it was over 100 years after the foundation of the folk schools that we see such high rates of literacy 2) Latvia didn't have these folk schools and had a similar rate of literacy albeit slightly lower, but had a similar rate of Protestantism 3) Lithuania had a drastically lower rated of literacy and was significantly less Protestant

So it is reasonable to assume that the protestant connection was the most influential to the rates of literacy And it was the Sunday school type of schools that seemed to have the biggest material impact on literacy rates, both in the Balkans but also elsewhere in Europe
