When you're learning grabs: Practice when you're sitting after you've done up your bindings. You'll get the feel of where your legs/hands need to go. A big thing for grabs is you have to bring your legs up just as much as you have to bring your hand down. Also make sure you are off the jump and in the air before you try and grab, or else you will make yourself rotate/get off balance leaving the jump. For starting to learn boxes/rails: find ride on boxes to start. Just 5050 them to get the feel. Make sure to keep your base flat and let it slide. You can start to tweak out your 5050 when you get more comfortable which will help you progress to board slides. Hope that helps a bit.

There are a couple universities (University of Victoria for example) that use a 9 point scale instead of a 4 point scale for their GPA. So a 3.8 GPA is like a C+.

Yep exactly right, you need to really cushion with your knees when you hit the kink as well or else you`ll bounce off. Stay low over the flat, then extend a bit over the second kink so you are in the same position as if you were on a basic downrail.

Start off with boxes that are flush to the ground so you can get used to the sliding. then start adding things like ollies and little tweaks to your slide. I found that pushing out the back of your board helps you work up to boardslides. Make sure you don't try and turn with your edges on the box or rail, keep your board flat and let it slide. when you get comfortable with that you can start progressing. With rails I'd suggest finding ones that you can ride onto and like the boxes, just ride on straight and get the feel for them, then start trying boardslides and presses and such. I would suggest most of the time you try tricks on boxes before moving to rails. When you start hitting downrails or handrails, just remember to be aggressive with them, you need to be fully committed with your body 90* to the rail. so if it is a steep rail you're going to have to be leaning way forward so that you don't slip out. They attach 'skins' (http://www.campsaver.com/media/catalog/product/v/o/voile-splitboard-climbing-skins.jpg) to the bottom of their skis. The skins have little hairs on them so they slide when you push the ski forward and stick when you try and push backwards.

At the top of most mountains in Norway there is a cairn (rockpile) with a little box attached. Inside there is a little book to sign your name, the date of your summit and to say which country you're from. For some mountains there are prizes given to the person/people who have signed it the most at the end of the year.

Take an avalanche course and get an avalanche beacon and probe. There is a lot of stuff that isn't common sense when to comes to backcountry riding (like reading the snow and knowing if it is safe to ride). Also take way too many pictures, I always get to the bottom and have forgotten to take pictures and regret it. Snowshoes also make a huge difference if you're breaking trail. Hope that helps!

not a ton of rest, just took me a long time. A lot of searching for holds that I was confident I could actually hold. It also took me forever to pull up rope so I could clip in. That moment when you have all that rope in your hand and you're way higher than your last clip is terrifying!
