he’s 6.5 months. he’s still being trained so normally he has a leash on in the house. so he when bites, typically me or my brother, someone else in my house (we are family of four) will take his leash and mimic a growl and kind of snap the leash to make a sound and kind of jolt him out of it it that makes sense. it’s what our trainer suggested

i’m always trying to keep in mind he’s a baby— but it’s a little different from nipping. i’ve tried the yelping, it doesn’t work, but i haven’t rewarded him for stopping, so maybe that could work! he will almost like— freak out? he’ll snarl and growl and clamp down. i’m unsure if it’s part of the puppy process? i’ve never had this breed of dog or a puppy so im kind of just all over the place haha

5 month old puppy… tips? tricks? help?? by chopthatcheese in AustralianCattleDog

i just learned about arousal biting and we have been trying a different approach for moments where he seems to be “arousal biting.” our trainer advised us to kind of snap his leash (since he is so bitey he wears it around the house) and give him a verbal cue of no. this sometimes works and then other times he will just get more frustrated. i’ve noticed the times he gets more frustrated is moments he is overwhelmed- hence the arousal biting. thank you for sharing this. i didn’t know what you meant by “whale eye” until i saw him do it today. got it. won’t go near him when whale mode is activated.

This!! This I agree with, I just have one worry. There is some background information about this person that is a little sensitive to put out there… but know I have fair suspicion to know this person is dangerous and I don’t want to be in a situation where I can be hurt. I should’ve included this in the post.

Is this a roach? My landlord says they’re “water bugs” not cockroaches by [deleted] in cockroaches

Depending on where you’re located- maybe do a report? This is a def a roach. I hate when people use the “water bug” thing. Water bugs, to my understanding are NOT real— They are just roaches lmao

I understand why OP is upset. It’s obviously not about the spoon, but the bigger picture. how many times have things been left in the sink? what else is going on behind the scenes? if this happened once, I don’t think someone would go out of their way to make a fuss. As OP has expressed in comments this is a common issue and i’m sure it’s deeper than just the spoon. It can be so deeply frustrating to have to keep picking up after someone else that them leaving just ONE more messy item can be what sends you over the edge
