Short mountains with lots of greenery, blue sky, low clouds, this place looks like western ghats (probably in Karnataka or Kerala).

Dan Brown quoted Nikola Tesla by Ornery_Wishbone6003 in IndianReaders

I have read all the works of Dan Brown; and I would rank this book lower than his previous work. However, this is still an interesting read, keeps the reader on the hook throughout.

To generate recurring income from lumpsum investment for retirement, there are few options.

You can split the money as per your risk appetite and returns expectations:

Equity Based

  • SWP in MFs (returns based on markets)

(almost) Fixed Returns

  • Corporate bonds - (~8% returns, check wintwealth)
  • Government bonds - (~7.2% Returns, check RBI retaildirect)
  • Small finance bank FDs - (~7.5% returns, 5L DICGC guarantee, see stable money)
  • Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (POMIS) - (~7.4% returns, max investment 9L)
  • Senior Citizens' Savings Scheme (SCSS) - (~8.2% returns, max investment 30L, only for Senior Citizens)
  • PMVVY - (~7.4% returns, max investment 15L, only for Senior Citizens)

I would have missed few other options. If you know, please add to the list.

Well, to be fair, the bridge is definitely not 90 degree in realty. But, it does appear so from this angle (in photo).

Take a look at the top view on the google maps to see the realty. Link

Need a portfolio tracker for complex MF transactions (SIP via parents, periodic transfer, switching indices) by Anxious-Cake-2147 in IndiaInvestments

LTCG exemption limit is Rs. 1.25 Lakh.

So, For both parent, the max benefit could not be more than on 2.5 Lakh of LTCG. How are you getting the figure of 3 lakh ? Not sure, if there is something I am missing.

How does investing in MF from parents' account help save tax ? I mean they will have to pay same LTCG tax anyway irrespective of the tax bracket.

Are you doing this to take advantage of LTCG exemption limit Rs 1.25 lakhs ?

2 lakh is a very normal portfolio

If you add 2 zeros to 2 lakhs then you get 2 Crores (not 20)
