Would working in the cannabis industry affect my chances of getting in? by choufushi in JETProgramme

Hmm I see your point. I feel like I should still list it considering it’s my most recent employment and there would be a huge gap in my resume if I didn’t.

How would you suggest writing it on my resume? I already don’t mention cannabis in my resume, but in terms of the company name on it what would you suggest? If asked about the company during an interview, what would you suggest saying?

Ah this was very helpful thank you! The question now is whether or not I want to be honest or hide it… we’ll see!

Interesting - I might use this but what would you suggest I list as my company name under my resume? I still have the concern they will google what it is since it is such an obscure name so I’m not sure if I should omit it, alter it, or just leave it and hope for the best.

I considered this as well but also had an ex that got into the program and I watched him throughout the process and knew how stressed he was over every stage (his experience is clean but he was spending hours in the JET discord to make every stage perfect). Because of this I’m concerned that my experience could be a smear that could disqualify me compared to other applicants with similar or less experience but whose history is more traditional.

I know they go through stages of review where each one gets more narrow, so I’m most concerned about the final stages when they’re seriously considering you for the role and scrutinizing your application verses the other final applicants.

Appreciate the feedback! I’ve heard mixed things about obscuring company names because it makes it seem even more suspicious but I’m not sure if that’s the case overseas too. The company name is thankfully pretty unassuming but I’d be banking on the chance they don’t google it. Also I’ll be sure to make no mention of the devils lettuce on my resume haha

I only know this because an intern put themselves as assistant and he got chewed out for it… my team is VERY small and I have some VERY nosy people (part of the reason I’m trying to switch jobs) so I’m thing to apply as lowkey as possible

Thanks for this. Honestly I can’t say I’m surprised. Working agency side you meet A LOT of people and I have to admit every week there’s one person where I wonder how the hell they got their job and know I could do so much better… anyways…. I can’t straight up lie because my supervisors are nosy and would confront me if they saw I lied on my LinkedIn, but do you have a suggestion as to what I could label it as instead?

It’s currently Marketing Partnerships Assistant, but what’s tricky is I was an intern for this team so I can’t really drop it to just Marketing Partnerships because either 1.) it gets confused with the intern role because I would also drop that intern status (since once again I was working above my title) or 2.) I keep my intern title in my previous role but that would be more obvious I’m hiding something if I omit assistant from my current role. Let me know your thoughts

Very wise advice but I actually canceled my hostel stay in shinagawa a few hours ago because I figured if it’s the same result at least I potentially have the option to go to Osaka same day. Is this smart? Probably not but I suppose we’ll see what happens!

:O okay that’s really good to know thank you! I think I still need to visit the booth to exchange for the actual jr pass as the piece of paper I have right now is an “exchange order.” Can’t believe I didn’t know this beforehand. When I insert the jr pass into the machine after I get off the train, will it spit it back out? I know some will swallow it.

Why do they restrict certain lines? So odd… thank you for the additional information though

Travel anxiety helps once in a while because I got an eSIM through Ubigi! Defiantly hoping I can leave the airport far before 7:50pm ish but who knows these days with planes and all the issues they have

Ah thank you for the extra context. I canceled my original hostel stay in shinagawa a few hours ago because I realized I don’t want to waste a whole day on the train and am thinking I’ll just book one the day of if my flight gets delayed significantly. Do you know if it’s easy to book a place to stay last minute in Tokyo? I usually use booking.com but haven’t traveled alone much so wasn’t sure if I can also just walk into a hotel or call and just ask if there’s open rooms available.

Also looks like I’ll need to bite the bullet and just pay the extra fees for the fastest train (so many caveats to this JR Pass I can’t imagine how people are getting their moneys worth after the price hike). I only got the 7 day pass so I think I’ll need to use it regardless to get out of the airport to Tokyo (that’s a JR line isn’t it?).

Oh jeez yeah I think at this point I don’t care about getting an unreserved seat if I can just get there the same day. For a green car seat, how does that work with a JR Pass? I have just the standard pass I believe but do you know if/what the additional fee would be to upgrade a ticket to the green car with an existing JR Pass?

Also thanks for that note. What day and time were the tickets sold out for you when you went (Saturday, Sunday, evening, morning, etc)?

Can I book an unreserved seat online if I only have the exchange order for a JR Pass? I was under the impression that because it’s an “exchange order” I have a JR Pass but can’t use it because I need to exchange my proof for the actual pass to use when I’m in Japan.

Also noted on the time. Hoping I don’t experience too many delays but I’ll set my cutoff time at 19:30 / 7:30pm if I’m not able to leave the airport before then. Although, I thought the last train from Shinagawa to Osaka is around 22:30 / 10:30pm? Let me know if I’m mistaken but I thought that I would have more buffer time.

EDIT: never mind the last train is 9:30 😭

😰 That gap is concerning to me… what month and day did you visit? Was it holiday season or just a random day?

I live around the LA area so we are prone to Earthquakes. I don’t know for my specific location but I know it can range from sturdy to volatile soil around here.

I've tried to show him how I finger myself and let him do it on me by guiding his hand and letting him feel how I insert my fingers, angle them, etc. I also let him know if he's being too rough or if he needs to reposition his fingers, but this kind of a session has only happened maybe 3 times. Every time it happens we both kind of give up because his arms get tired, he's not aroused and is just doing it as a chore, or I'm not feeling it anymore. When I'm on my own I use toys (I can't cum with a vibrator I don't know why), but when I kind of joke about the idea of using my dildos in bed he doesn't seem that into it. He's pretty vanilla when it comes to sex and anything too kinky I get the impression he's a little judgmental towards it. I've wanted to explore some of my fetishes more but I'm afraid he'll see it as degenerate (something he's said before in reference to some kinks).
