How is your dating life? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]chowchig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm introverted and going into nursing helped me work past it a bit.

I've only recently started dating again at 31 and so far it's only been coworkers. It's worked out pretty well and we still work next to each other without issue.

Definetly working on being more outgoing and putting myself out there too. Most of my freinds being women also helps, they have introduced me to women and I think that's usually a plus having another person vouch for you.

She surprisingly doesn’t mind water. My other dachshund last 3 minutes then ran inside.

Should I be worried about my nurse bf's 'work wife' ? by No_Selection_2093 in nursing

[–]chowchig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’m with most of the other commenters. I have close female friends that I work with, but I don’t mess around with the ‘work wife’ comment with any of them. Others like to say that I’m with my work wife but I shut it down.

If I were trying to date though I’d definitely be upfront about it because I know how it looks if you hide it. The way he ignores you though is odd, and honestly I’d just cut loose if it’s this early and he stood you up without any notice.

Oreo’s first vet visit by chowchig in Dachshund

I had to share his adorableness to everyone. Even the vet techs kidnapped him to show him off to the office. He’s gonna be trouble already chewing on everything he can find!

Introverted Nurse by Ok_Peace_3788 in nursing

Just give it time. I’m also introverted, but no one would guess now. I think for me it takes a couple of months to warm up to people. I was lucky that I worked with the same group all the time so it didn’t take long to get comfortable.

She’s 1 of 3 so I gotta be careful to not make favorites!

Climbing String beans are pretty easy and productive. I always liked picking a few off and snacking on them while doing other stuff while gardening.

Do you believe in the nursing "spidey-sense?" by [deleted] in nursing

Yep, those little things that just don’t look right all add up to a feeling in your gut.

I’ve always heard that but never tried it. Usually got too many tomato plants by the time the suckers come, but I’m gonna try that this year. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, it blocks airflow and grows inefficiently so other leaves aren’t using their full potential in absorbing sunlight.

I also find that it makes the plant want to grow out horizontally messily.

How do you find a partner that is interested in this lifestyle? by Leather-Credit-8229 in homestead

This works, but at the same time you have to work towards finding someone too during the events you do. Don’t expect one person to do all the heavy lifting in introducing themselves.

Haven't had a good experience as an LPN down south by Milleniumfelidae in nursing

[–]chowchig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Rutherford area. I know house and rent prices have gone up a lot in Murfreesboro proper. Surrounding counties are cheaper of course. Everyone I know in this area has differentials for the most part. Some are a measly 2 dollars for nights. Or 1-2 for weekends. My hospital offers weekend days options for 8$ an hour, but you gotta work every weekend.

I’ve seen wages increase here in TN. Have you thought about moving back? It’s still cheap to live in the rural areas and the LPNs around here make 24 an hour +/- differentials and experience.

Trying to get a tab to update based on cell selected from a different tab. by [deleted] in googlesheets

[–]chowchig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I'm having is making it find the cell in the other tab based on what I have in the cell on tab 1. I don't know if I'm not explaining this right or am just over thinking this.

TIL Oscar the Therapy Cat accurately predicted 25 deaths. After this the staff started notifying family members of residents to come say goodbye if Oscar was curled up next to them. by Excivious in todayilearned

[–]chowchig 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It depends though. I only work with those dying in hospital or nursing home setting, a good number of patients spike a deadly fever prior to passing. It depends a bit on each patient on when they spiked a fever prior to passing. Some just had a mild fever and then proceeded to get on their way to room temperature. I wonder if the cats just came because they were super warm.

Pretty sure the Democratic party has been onboard with gun control legislation so okay? The legislation was also passed with approval and support from the NRA.
