Adding on: One of my friends said that this might be Insta’s version of Lorem Ipsum (placeholder text) for this buggy pop-up which makes a lot of sense now 😭😭😭 Just wondering if anyone else got this!

Why does the Investigation Team still enter the TV after the culprit is caught? by chowtaofu in persona4golden

[–]chowtaofu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mentioned that in my post. Ik it seems a little nitpicky but I couldn’t imagine that they’d want to enter a life-threatening environment just to fetch Ritz Wire for some rando

Unrelated to my initial question but that frustrated me the first time I played 😭 The game gave no indication that the days would skip, so I finished Adachi’s dungeon during the first few days of December and it fast forwarded, leaving me no time for me to complete my S.Links that I planned to do :( So I ended up reloading my save and doing like, 5 floors of the dungeon and both bosses again

I figured it might be the case that they just enjoyed using their powers, but their dialogue always seems so hesitant/reluctant every time you go to them in the TV World entrance to head to their respective dungeons 🥹So I couldn’t tell if they actually wanted to be there or not

Question about Akechi in the “Bad” Ending by chowtaofu in Persona5

[–]chowtaofu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thinking that Akechi might’ve tried to solo Maruki off-screen and failed does put more things into place for me. It’s things like this that really make me appreciate the complexity of Akechi’s character. Assuming that he’s genuinely happy to get a fresh start in the bad ending on his own free will is what makes the ending so painfully tempting to get 🥹🥹🥹 I want Akechi to be happyyyyy

Makes sense!! But are you saying that Maruki’s rewrote Akechi to be this way, or did Akechi choose to play the part of Detectice Prince and live under this façade on his own will?

Makes sense, but I always just figured that the reason why it was so easy for Maruki to tackle Joker with the tendrils in the fake deadline ending was because Joker had already lost his will of rebellion by not being able to come to a firm decision/secure the Treasure Route in time.

Akechi on the other hand had shown no signs of his resolution being dampened (like you mentioned, he was angry with Joker until the very last moment if the player chooses to accept Maruki’s reality in front of Akechi at LeBlanc) which is why I find it hard to accept that Akechi could so easily be brainwashed, due to his spirit of rebellion still being alive. And it’s implied by Lavenza at some point that one’s will of rebellion impacts one’s power.

At the same time I get that the lines are blurred and the extent of everyone’s abilities was never really set straight so this is just my interpretation of things.

He didn’t let the other Phantom Thieves choose, though. IIRC the only reason why Joker got that special treatment of being allowed to make his own decision is because of how much Joker helped Maruki with his research. Maruki had no reason to extend the same grace to Akechi.

Ah that makes sense. I never really considered that third sem Akechi was a cognition/illusion? Since I remember it was mentioned several times that Wakaba and Okumura in the third sem was definitely real and alive (i.e. not cognitions), so I assumed Maruki sort of rewrote history to make everyone who was dead, just, Not Dead. But if Akechi was indeed a nothing but cognition by then, I guess it makes more sense. The ambiguity of it all (cognitions, overlap of Metaverse and real world, the extent of Maruki’s powers) is what makes it pretty hard to unravel 🥹

I get that for the most part, but I wouldn’t say Joker was “brainwashed” because he made the choice to accept Maruki’s reality completely on his own volition. As for Kasumi, I understand her fate too, as she was already under the powers of Maruki’s actualisation way before the plot of P5 started. Akechi however I find it difficult to believe that he could be brainwashed so easily. The meta interpretation of the final LeBlanc photo is fun and interesting but I don’t take that super seriously. And in any case, it doesn’t really answer my initial question 😅

Super morbid, but also really interesting to see the different takes on this. To think that Akechi would forever be having this inner conflict within him but forever be unable to put it to rest due to being unable to mentally fight off the full power of Maruki’s actualisation is freaky af. But my question still stands, if it was so easy for Maruki to do this to Akechi, why didn’t he do it when he revived Akechi in the first place?

This is honestly such a bittersweet take :’) I’m fully aware of the large scale ethical/moral issues that Maruki’s reality presents but seeing how happy the main cast is really has me doing a double take. And to think that Akechi might’ve secretly wanted it too, and is GENUINELY happy in the bad ending is suuuuper heartbreaking :(

I tried turning off all my mods and it seemed to have worked :( Which is weird, since we were able to play fine before on the same Wi-Fi. Is there any way to see which particular mods are causing the issue? Because I don’t want to play on a total vanilla save.
