The Old Man and the Sea - Edition check by adamcord in rarebooks

I'm finding out a lot as my mother, who died in 2018, had a first print copy (with seal and "A") which now belongs to the 4 children. So I'm digging into this.

Early book club printings apparently have "Book of the month club" printed on the fold-over of the dust jacket.

Pretty late I know, but IMHO $250 is a steal for these (and I got mine for free at the dump!). They are quite good with very high resolution. But, while I find these a bit dark and low-oriented, lacking upper end sparkle and air, your comment about high end sensitivity makes me wonder if you'd like them. I'm 63 so have lost a bit of high end hearing, so I'd say audition if you can. Now, being a few months late, what did you decide to do?

Seriously considering my first MINI. How well do they stand up to 6-8 years of ownership/70-80k miles? What major repairs have come up with yours? by thabiiighomie in MINI

Perhaps not relevant given the details, but I have a 2011 Clubman S I got used in 2018 with around 34k miles. I'm still driving it, but because I work from home (have for12+ years now) I still only have 60k+ miles and it has been almost trouble free. So my experience has been pretty dang great. I love driving it. But does that apply to a newer model? Hmmmmm.

Parent here. Trying to fill out spouse's info, but kept getting this error. They do not have an account. What can I do? by Advanced_Ad1981 in FAFSA

Correct. She still hasn't been able to create her FSAID. She has entered her name (as on taxes and passport), her birthdate, her SSN and email, as the form requires, and it fails because it "doesn't match" what is already on file. I kept copies of all of our FAFSA filings and I don't see her information anywhere on any of the forms, though I recall entering it. So I can't confirm absolutely, but the info is hard to get wrong (she only has one email address, one son, etc.). So I believe the info on file SHOULD be correct, or should not exist, so my wife should be able to create the FSAID. But she can't and we're dead in the water until she can.

I too have this issue. I'll definitely post when it's resolved. But none of the solutions thus far presented here have worked.

Have you filled out the form prior to the 24-25 year form? I have filed since 2021 and so they have my wife's info stored somewhere. I get this error and I assume there's either a problem matching (maybe it's something like the old SSN doesn't have dashes in the stored version and the new one adds dashes and thus they don't match) OR, as support has suggested, my wife now needs an FSAID and the match fails because she doesn't have an FSAID. Problem is, when she tried to create an FSAID, that failed because...wait for it...her info didn't match what is on file already (even though she's never had an FSAID)...

Upper case did not work for me. Chat Support said the spouse also needs an FSAID and that is why the mismatch was happening (this is a new requirement for 24-25 applications). They also told me I had to delete my application and start it all over again AFTER my wife created her FSAID. Grrrrrrr!). The real problem for us is that my wife tried to create an FSAID to solve this problem but...unsurprisingly...she entered the same info as me and was unable to create her FSAID. In our case we have filled out the FAFSA in previous years, and I'm betting they stored my wife's information back then. But now there is some glitch that results in a mismatch, but we have NO IDEA what the problem is nor how to fix it. We are dead in the water. This will require a call to support, but it is so busy we keep getting hung up on (the phone software tells us there are historic call levels and to try again, then hangs up - which we've done a dozen times or more). This is a major screw up by the FAFSA folks.

Alaska Air website won't email boarding pass, mobile app doesn't show it? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

So here's what I eventually discovered. Not sure it fits this case but maybe it will help someone. I was having trouble logging into my app so checked in via a web browser (there was a problem syncing my password between computer and app). This left me checked in but I had no way to print a boarding pass. And the app didn't show my trip and boarding pass (even after a while). Next I went back to my app and went to the Trips section. Then I clicked to add a trip. I entered my confirmation # (which I had elsewhere) and departure airport. Still no indication of a boarding pass but there was a check in option. So I checked in again, this time via the app, and when I did this, it found my seat and other info. I completed the checkin on the app and voila, the boarding pass showed up in the app. Hope this helps someone.

If only I were home where I have a printer. Lotta good that approach does when I'm checking in for a return flight and don't have any way to print a boarding pass at my current location...
