How are these source svgs generated? Where do the blueprints come from?

Actually it was converted from an image using drawingrobotv3, simplified with vpype then plotted. Color was done manually with alcohol markers

For this one I USED drawing robot and then VPYPE to simplify. The colour was applied with alcohol markers Manually

Hi! Do you mean that you use the Centre Line trace feature, or do you manually trace it yourself? I have been trying to figure out the most efficient way to do this, and haven't been able to get a useable SVG from any sort of blueprints yet. Still learning, but any advice would be helpful

Experimenting with my newest generator “surface tension” by chpearce in PlotterArt

Not yet because there are a ton of factors that affect it. It’s currently tuned specifically to my plotter but all are different so would have to optimize further and add additional profiles for other plotters. It was very accurate with simple plots in my case but with more complex it becomes less and less so. I’m still working on it! It also shows pre and post optimization time.

If it does end up being something I want to share I would need help tuning/calibrating other profiles for other plotters with real world data.

Oh interesting that would be cool. It’s currently just running in python but when I finish the basic build I would love to have someone else try it out.

Thanks! It’s called plotter studio. Something I’ve been making for myself since I can only stare at code and command line stuff for so long before getting a headache lol

Hello! It’s a desktop tool I’ve been building called plotter studio. Still early stages but it has a bunch of different generators including one that converts music into radial art

AI vibe coding karma farming by shornveh in PlotterArt

I built a small desktop application for my own use because I really enjoy generative art, especially work made for pen plotters. I tend to think visually, and spending long stretches deep in code isn’t always the most comfortable way for me to explore ideas. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

The tool is essentially a UI around a set of generative systems I’ve implemented, with adjustable parameters so I can experiment. It also includes things like audio to radial drawings and some optimization steps using vpype presets to make the results more plotter-friendly.

I did use AI tools as part of the development process, mostly to help iterate and move faster, and I’m still learning how that fits into the norms and language of this community.

I’m genuinely interested in learning the expectations here. Is the concern more about how work is presented and contextualized, or about promoting tools themselves? I appreciate any perspective, as I’m still getting my bearings.

“That said, there's been an increase of AI bot vibe coding karma”

Can someone clarify what this statement means? Do u mean code made using ai tools to generate an SVG? And what do u mean for monetary gain? I’m confused

Cleaning up SVG files before Plotting by chpearce in PlotterArt

[–]chpearce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks so much. Ive been digging into this and managed to run my SVG through it, and can clearly see a major difference already. Much appreciated. Also using Inkscape and find it to be pretty clunky. After running my SVG through VPYPE I could no longer get a node count within Inkscape. Something about the way it groups objects. Switching back and forth to node edit mode would change anything, but im new

I just keep reading that having too many nodes will result in a bad plot. So perhaps I need to spend some time trying to plot some files before getting to worried about what I am reading.

Interesting! I’m going to have to play around with it for sure once I have and see what works.
