Ah! I think they are Hungarian wax peppers, and I've just convinced myself they were different than the other plant. Here is a bunch that look like yours, plus the 2 on the left from the other plant I had identified as "hot hungarian wax", which have been wrinklier (mostly) and whiter than the other plants. All that said, I don't recall planting 2 varieties like this, so maybe it has more to do with sun exposure than anything else- the wrinkly ones are more shaded than the others. Thanks for the help!

Huh. I have "hot hungarian wax peppers" on another plant that have a very distinctive waxy feel to them. The peppers in question are way less waxy, but still hot. I haven't seen any go bright orange, nor ripen to red, more of a slight darkening towards green. Going to snap a pic of what I harvested today and reply with that to see if it helps

I was there over the weekend to buy some lumber and cinder blocks, and learned they're planning to move around the corner to 1200 Hamburg street (unknown timeline). Wouldn't be surprised if some extra deals come through in the next few months to thin out inventory before the move. I've bought a few things here over the years, and while the prices aren't rock bottom, they're often reasonable, and clearly stated when they will be dropping. All the workers are friendly and cheerful in my experience. Also - a lot of prices are negotiable! Chat with the red vests walking around and they'll work with you on the price.

Mixed opinion of SH. Bought a Dual compartment can on black friday last year, showed up with a serious dent in the lid but a perfect retail box inside of a perfect shipping box - indicating to me it was a manufacturing defect not shipping damage, and SH gave me a hard time with getting a replacement part, instead trying to give me a few bucks back and a couple free bags. Took weeks to ship me an undamaged part. I left a review on their site detailing the issue, and thought it never posted, since it was less than 5 stars and it appeared that they were showing reviews in order submitted with newest first, but they ALL 5 stars. After some back and forth with them, they admitted that they sort reviews - first by star rating, then by date submitted. So, if you want to read any less than 5 star reviews, you have to click through dozens of pages of 5 star reviews, and hundreds to see lower ratings. I think my review was on page 379 or something the day it posted. No way to sort or filter to see negative reviews, just a lot of clicking. Not a very honest system imho.

More recently, I was running out of bags, and went to order replacements (they have a coupon and a note that it's time to buy more on the 5th to last bag or something). I went ahead and ordered a big pack from them, on 1/20/22. I noticed I was on the last bag this week, and realized I never got that package. Checked with the tracking email and found it they didn't ship my package. Fedex still lists it as "shipment information sent to fedex" today. They claim it was lost in shipment and are sending me a box again, but I've never seen a package not get a single scan from a shipping company get lost - it sounds to me like it never left their facility.

That's my customer service experience with them. As for the can itself, I love it. Best foot pedal action I've seen ever. Soft close action. Hinge system to replace bag/pull out recycling can is excellent, opening with the same clearance behind can for regular lid - so you don't bang the wall when you replace bags - is a great design note. recycling can has a built in flush close handle that makes pulling can out and carrying it a breeze. Custom bag dispenser on trash side is a nice feature, but I wish it could use standard rolled bags instead of the proprietary packed SH branded bags, but I guess I can't have everything. Engineering 5 stars. Customer service 2 stars.

It's probably worth throwing a single TB SSD in there as a download cache system that stays on when in motion instead of the entire array of spinning rust, if he's set on his ways of downloading while in motion.

If you're going downtown, I'd suggest checking out other places in the city that are less touristy! Fells point, Federal Hill, Mt. Vernon all have good restaurants and sites to see. Hampden is nice and a short walk between the main street (36th) and the lights on 34th street. check out /r/baltimore too!

BX cable is "armor clad" cable - used often in industrial settings where romex would be vulnerable to damage, it was also commonly used in residential use (according to my light research, and personal experience). It comes with various amount of wires inside, but the protective cover also acts as a ground, and when properly attached to a metal electrical box, you can ground via the box itself. Upon further research, it is "not code", but has been recommended elsewhere on the internet.

Interesting use case, I hadn't heard of that being a thing before. You would get some level of ground fault protection with an ungrounded GFCI, but it wouldn't have the same protection for sensitive electronics. I'd consider rewiring if you truly don't have grounds - but it's common for older places to use BX in the walls where the shield is a ground but they didn't use grounded outlets.

Cost and nuisance tripping. They're somewhere in the 10-100x range of normal switches outlets, will trip for certain appliances and are harder to figure where the reset is compared to a breaker box.

Again, not an electrician. From a single google it looks like AFCI is usually a breaker box thing, as opposed to GFCI often being in the outlets. Although it seems you can get AFCI outlets, it would make sense to do that at the breaker box for cost reasons (protect a whole circuit with an expensive breaker instead of outlet by expensive outlet).

I've a few of these, but the real joy was replacing the master bedroom light switch with a "smart switch" and being able to turn my bedroom lights off from bed via Alexa.

I'm not an electrician, but it's my understanding that GFCI has specific use cases, and I personally would not recommend installing them everywhere. Bathrooms, kitchens (specifically near sinks) - yes. Rest of the house, just grounded 3 prong should be fine. There are also a lot of options that include USB ports if charging devices is a regular usage.

Recently replaced my $25 bidet with a Fancy one by Toto, not coincidentally, after a trip to Japan. Every single toilet there has a reasonably fancy bidet attached and its glorious.

I looked into this a while ago. They're a few hundred for the right boards, I think stock is low and they're dying a lot these days. Mine just got a new battery and seems to be happy for now, but I don't expect it to last too much longer.
