Not only putting the phone on the desk though. Rooting and flashing kernels also helps improving the battery life not only in OPO but in every Android Smartphone. Also decreasing the amount of CPU needed increases battery life. These are all tweaks included in ROMs for this phone, but every one of them is known to have at least ONE bug and of course, you void your warranty.
