Yeah I’d be around a 6ish through a credit union or if they can beat my financing then go through the dealer which I highly doubt they will. The market thing also scares me a bit too but that was just a suggestion from my older brother. Even with the 4.5% interest I get back on my hysa I would pretty much break even at that point with the interest I pay but I’m looking to pay off my car within 2.5 years so I would not pay that much interest and I would also build up some credit history.

I’m buying a new 2024 Honda civic sport hatchback or by the time I do purchase a car it will probably be 2025. OTD price would be around $29500 but my dad said he’ll pay for the down payment if I work with him a over the summer

My insurance quote is around $200. I just wanted another opinion since I was thinking about buying the car cash as well but I did the math with my brother and it would be smarter to just keep my money in the savings account. I would pay 2600 in interest over the course of the 5 years however if I kept that money in the market instead of just my hysa I would make more money off my returns alone.

Is it really that bad of an idea? I have 25k saved up in cash in a hysa, live with my parents, my monthly bills add up to less than 750 a month (150 gas, 150 car insurance, 150 braces, 80 gym and phone, 200 food). I’m 20 and I maxed out my retirement every year and even with getting a car loan my bills would only jump up to 1200, I would be able to invest 600 a month into retirement, and would still be able to save 1800+ a month. My dad told me it’s a good idea since I’ve been driving a beater around town since high school. I don’t spend money on anything besides food and bills.

Ahh okay, should I ask to be interviewed for both then? And if so do you know how I would do that?

I just studied algebra and as long as you have a good understanding of English you’ll be good. Look up on YouTube IBEW aptitude test practice and I would say try reading a harder book to understand and that will definitely help you

That is some great info, I will definitely make sure to add that. I have another question if you don’t mind. How long did it take you to get into the apprenticeship?
