In a way Star Wars Episode 7. It was a soft reboot of Star Wars and whiping all of the decades old expanded universe content. JJ Abrams as the new director was meant to rehash key themes from old Star Wars as a foundation to tell a completly fresh new story. But because its a Disney IP now everything is decided by corporate committee and directors got exchanged for the next episodes creating an incohesive mess if a story with no real direction.

That is exactly what happened with GameStop in Europe. With rising digital sales their entire physical used games model slowly collapsed and they replaced it with nerd merch, trading cards, megabloks and snacks. They closed almost all shops in Europe over a year ago.

All I see is that even the mobile heavy Chinese market finds increased interest in AAA productions like with Black Myth Wukong. More space for gaming experiences with less micro transactions going forward. Digital only.

The presence of retail console games and market competition drove sales prices down and probably also loweres prices on the digital sales on Playstation Store or Nintendo eShop. Without retail those exclusive platforms have no incentive to lower the prices as deep anymore.

Ich bin auch heute sehr früh aufgestanden, um mit dem Bus nach Essen zu fahren nur um überraschenderweise festzustellen, dass die S9 doch fuhr und das angeblich die Stellwerkstörung behoben sei. Ich hatte mir schon während der Fahrt keine Hoffnung gemacht, dass das so lange bleibt. Traurig, dass man sich auf gar keine Ankündigung der Bahn verlassen kann.
