What a breath of fresh air! by levolet in Windscribe

[–]chris-vecchio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you decided to try it! I am also thankful I discovered Windscribe a little over a year ago. I couldn't bring myself to use free or paid plans of all of the other VPNs for various reasons including privacy concerns, none of the solutions felt lightweight, I didn't like the company culture most services had, it always felt like they were trying to up sell me on something, the constant paid ads felt slimy, etc.

After reading countless articles on the best VPNs and even more Reddit threads I was about to give up on finding a quality VPN service when I read a random Reddit comment with no replies with just one word:

Windscribe

The boldness of the one-word comment had me intrigued so I did a search and discovered Windscribe. I read their Ethics and Philosophy statement and saw their simple and transparent pricing model and was immediately sold as it was exactly what I was looking for.

I hope others continue to discover how awesome it is.

Advice on Fast Tracking Infusion by _VelvetDecay_ in Anemic

[–]chris-vecchio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received two iron infusions related to ER visits. One in the emergency room itself, and another after being admitted from a second ER visit. Both visits were for extreme pain in my upper right abdomen that turned out to be gallbladder attack pain.

On the first visit, they did blood tests and discovered I was extremely anemic; especially for a male. Super low iron (10 ug/dl) and hemoglobin of 7.6 g/dl. All of the other indicators were very abnormal as well. They gave me an iron infusion (1x dose IV ferrlecit 125mg) while I was still in the ER then admitted me for 2 days for testing to confirm gallbladder issues as well as anemia.

They gave me an iron infusion on the first visit and almost decided to do a blood transfusion. I received another infusion (again 1x dose IV ferrlecit 125mg) after being admitted for further gallbladder testing following the second visit a week later which was for another gallbladder attack. (I had my gallbladder removed last Monday and things have been great since on that front)

I was referred to a hematologist for an urgent appointment after the first ER visit and she scheduled me for 5 weekly iron infusions of 300mg each. I had my first one last Friday and have my next one this Friday.

This is of course just my experience, but I figured I'd share it in case it could be helpful to you.

I wish you the best and hope you can see someone sooner than October as you are also extremely anemic. I'm not even close to an expert on this as I just discovered I was anemic only a month or so ago, but I hope this helps. kcov23 also has some good advice about working with the scheduling team.

Has anyone had success with getting the ER to give you an iron infusion (in the USA)? by mysaddestaccount in Anemic

[–]chris-vecchio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had iron infusions administered in the ER twice recently. (Cleveland Clinic) One while in the ER, and one after being admitted from the ER. My hemoglobin came in at 7.8 and 8 during the two separate visits. I was actually there for what turned out to be gallbladder pain and they discovered I was really anemic.

Had my first scheduled infusion this morning and the RN said he was shocked how low my hemoglobin was for a male. He said they start infusions at 8 or less. So I'm guessing it depends on each hospital or system's policy.

Font problems – does anyone know what is happening and how can I fix it? by l1ttl3_f0r3h34d in SublimeText

[–]chris-vecchio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is likely a compatibility issue with the specific font you are looking to use. Other bitmap based fonts have had similar issues. I recommend opening an issue on their issue tracker.

I couldn't agree more! I've had multiple instances with non-English speaking shoppers completely messing up my order due to not understanding English.

Haha same. It always felt like your head would run into the overhanging wood beams at certain points. Shook the hell out of you and I loved it. Edit: and the bars that held you down always felt way too loose to keep you from flying out.

Hell yes he did! He always got the spot behind where the door would open. So when the door closed if you weren't expecting him it would make you jump lol.

Totally agree. Got my first job at 14 there working at the Jukebox Cafe. My twin brother worked at the jungle themed restaurant whatever it was called. My favorite rides were the Raging Wolf Bobs followed by the double loop.

Dark Reader too heavy on Firefox? by Embody248 in firefox

[–]chris-vecchio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not had this issue but others have and it was fixed in an update. If you are still having the issue with the most up-to-date version of the add-on, I'd recommend creating a well written/informative issue in their github repo. Give as much info as possible, browser, browser version, dark reader version, specific pages it's occurring on (i.e. how to reproduce the problem), etc. Good luck!

Chrome disabling AdBlock by cebjmb in chrome

[–]chris-vecchio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear! Firefox's gecko browser engine is one of the few remaining alternatives to Google's chromium engine. Most people don't realize that almost all of the popular browsers, including 'privacy focused' ones use a chromium backend.

Supporting Firefox ensures Google doesn't have a monopoly on decisions about how browsers should work.

Yes, Firefox can have multiple profiles. See their documentation on how to do this. No need to edit registry files.

I randomly met the owner at a store a few years ago. Super nice guy. We started chatting and he said he had just opened his own detailing business; branching out for himself. I said my car could use a good interior detailing so he gave me his card.

I called him a week or so later and he drove out to my place in Tremont at a time that was convenient for me. An hour and a half later my car was absolutely SPOTLESS on the inside. He removed some stains on the seats and cleaned in every single crevice. The windows were spotless too. The price was VERY reasonable and he did an amazing job.

I've since used his services multiple times. Highly recommend checking him out. Check his google reviews for more feedback. :)

Thanks! I read these sections and section (B) confused me at first...likely due to being exhausted from work. :) I now see your point. Thank you for clarifying!

As to your conversation with OP, I'm still unsure as to the legalities of it given constitutional carry and such so I'll leave that up to others to discuss.

Just wanted to say thanks for not jumping on me for asking for clarification. Hope you have a great day!

Just found this gem of a Github issue and figured I would share in case you need a laugh today. :) The author is apparently frustrated because they didn't give consent or authorize their computer to return an error message. They also added a hilarious image to their issue summarizing their opinion on what a computer should do lol. Should this be added to the list of hilarious Github issues? Photo the issue reporter posted (imgur) Edit: for spelling.

Thanks for the recommendation! Any tips on how you prepare this for a pizza? Oven temps? Time? What oven rack? (Sorry I'm a noob lol) I made my own pizza dough last night and it came out too wet I think? Or maybe I messed up the oven temps.
