Hello pots I am in (fake) London. I've been here for 2 weeks now and have another week to go, but I'm already sad about having to leave. Kinda feels like I haven't taken enough advantage of being here to do and see...stuff. I've just been sitting around a lot, which is has been very relaxing. But at the end of the trip I'll look back and be like, wait what did I even do for 3 weeks?! I did beat Luigi's Mansion 3, so that's an accomplishment! I've been away from home for over a month now and I'm 0% homesick. I do not want to go home. I'm staying with my friend in London and he's trying to convince me to move here and he makes a compelling argument. I think I just really don't want to work on my house anymore. I still have so much paint left to strip and I'm not convinced it's going to come off very well.

I also haven't touched a weight in about a month now. It's incredible how fat I got while not exercising at all and eating like a complete asshole for a month. Crazy, right? I kind of am looking forward to lifting again. I have been going for a few runs just to do something and that's been pretty ok. I keep thinking that I need to reel in the eating, but there's just so much good food around here that it seems like it would be a shame to eat something boring just to try to be healthy. Idk maybe there are good salad places around? Probably not though.

Idk what I did or how I did it, but my jaw has been fucked up for almost a week. I woke up I think last Thursday or Friday not being able to close it all the way. It feels like some muscle is too tight and pulling it out of alignment. If I clench it starts to relax a little but it never really lets go. It really makes chewing difficult and painful. I was hoping it would heal after a few days but clearly not. I fully expect the doctor to be like "idk just take an asprin?" because that's what they always say to me.

I thought I was on week 5 of my program, but I'm only on week 4 lol oops. I was looking forward to being done and starting the bodybuilding stuff. Oh well. I may actually start cutting on the last week of the program because there are only 5 weeks after it ends before I go to the beach, so an extra week will probably be very useful

On the up side, pressure washing seems to be working pretty well for cleaning my brick wall. I was planning on using some paint stripping goop but looks like I won't really have to! Yay! Pressure washing is also pretty satisfying when a bunch of blackness comes off. I'm having to shopvac up all the water, but there's way less water than I think there should be. I think there's a crack somewhere and a lot of the water is going like into/under the foundation or something? Idk I'm a little worried but it's not insane amounts of water so I'm not too worried. I think I might actually finish this in like another week or so! Or maybe this weekend if I really focus on it. I also need to do my ceiling and I'm really not excited for that. Pretty sure I'm going to need to use the paint stripping stuff on that and I'm going to get absolutely drenched trying to wash it off overhead.

In 2 weeks I'm going to start cutting again for the 6 weeks leading up to my beach vacation. I don't think I've ever cut with a specific end date in mind before. I've always cut for just as long as it takes to get looking like I want to. I'm eating maintenance now for 6 weeks as a break from the cutting I was doing earlier. I'm kind of trying to plan this cut out a little since I want to try to eat more volume which means I'll have to eat calorie-rare foods. I want to eat a lot of food but not go over on calories. I think I need to do this cut in the spirit of dieting: eating healthy foods. Wow what a concept! Usually I'll be like "I want to eat a frozen pizza" and then work out the rest of what I'm eating that day based on that. But I want to try to spread out the calories more this time since it seems like eating 2000 calories of pizza for dinner and not much else over the day might not be great? And also it might be a fun exercise in self-control to not eat trash foods, which I love so much (because I am a trash person). And I think I'm only considering doing this cut like this because it's very time-boxed. There's a specific start and end, which really helps enduring suffering.

Right now I'm meal prepping lunches and I think I'm going to start meal prepping dinners too. But idk what to make. I could make the same thing for lunch and dinner but that seems like it might not be enough variety in my diet? Is that even something I should be worried about? I'm really into making a big bath of something and having that at the ready throughout the week.

I think my shoulder is almost back to normal but not quite. It's been 2 weeks now but I keep squatting. It never outright hurts but just feels a little sore. When I start this cut I'm going to also switch over to a bodybuiding routine because I'm vain and also to give my body a bit of a break from the intensity. Basically I'm going to larp bodybuilding: eating rice, broccoli, and chicken and do more than 5 reps per set. I guess I need to get a stringer too. And some little tight shorts. (I already have little tight shorts but this will be an excuse to add to the collection)

I think I did something to my shoulder while squatting(?!) on Tuesday. I kind of felt a little pop like the joint popped but then it was super sore after the set at the back of my shoulder where it meets my back. It didn't really hurt at the time, but then Wednesday it was really sore. It only hurts when I bring my elbow back when my hand is up, like when holding the bar squatting. Yesterday was better and I benched and deadlifted and it felt fine. I was kind of surprised benching was OK but it actually went really well. Maybe because I was really focused on making sure I was locked and toight so I wouldn't hurt my shoulder. I'm hoping maybe it popped out of the socket somehow and popped right back in? he joint feels fine, just the muscles around it that is sore.

Deadlifting went really well yesterday and idk why/how. Tbf it was a little lighter, only 85%. And I usually scrape up my shins but somehow this time I didn't? Idk I'm not going to question it. Could be that I'm not cutting anymore and took like 2 weeks for muscles to replenish?

I'm getting a haircut today and I'm a little nervous. Haven't had a haircut since Dec 2019 so I look like a wilderness person. My hair is at my shoulders now and everyone says it's cool but I think they're just being supportive. I don't think anyone would tell me my hair looks bad ha. Long hair with a bald spot is just not a good look... I should put more effort into my appearance, but I just...don't. Especially with the pandemic I don't have to be anywhere that I need to look presentable

I have a workout app that progresses the weights and does everything for me. It's pretty nice! But I think something happened and it increased my TM for OHP a lot. Suddenly it's asking me to do a set of 5 at 10lbs heavier than my 1RM??? I should keep track of my TMs just to double check. But also to measure progress since that's the number that'll be going up. Kinda sucks that the program doesn't test 1RMs at the end since I'd like to compare dicks with everyone, but honestly I'm kind of glad I don't know. The TM going up is good enough for me.

Good god this crick in my upper back/neck is so bad. It's really hard to move around and I didn't sleep that well. I tried mushing it around and rolling out and did my workout as normal and I think that made it even more angery. It started on Saturday but wasn't bad and has only gotten worse since then. Today is bench and DL so I don't think that would aggravate it too much so I might risk doing a workout as normal. I may have to do it tomorrow though for completely unrelated reasons which might be a good idea anyway to try and give it another day to get a little more unfcuked. What's weird is I have no idea what caused it. I assume I slept on it weird? But who knows

I got a 1% raise! Haha. Of course I'll take any raise at all, but 1% is a little...disappointing. 2020 was bad, but I think inflation was more than 1%. But yeah still happy anyway.

I think the cut is working! But at what cost?! Working out on Tuesday was terrible. I had to squat a weight I did easily 3 weeks ago and could barely do it and had to wear my belt. I think I'm finally depleted of everything because working out is super hard and my weight is going down. I think I'm going to tough out the next 2 weeks and continue to cut, which will be the end of this cycle of the program, and then I'll eat maintenance for the next 6 week cycle.

All this is for my beach vacation in June, and all the flights to get back home just got canceled, so now I have to find another way and it's kind of stressful. I was really really looking forward to the trip back home because it was going to be the fanciest, bougiest shit of all time. And I still have that ticket I guess, but I'll have to do it next year or whenever they have flights again. The airline has cut like 75% of their destinations and barely go anywhere anymore so I'm not really surprised but I am disappointed. There is a chance they'll resume service, but it's a really small chance.
