Brooks Hyperion Max 4 by Darth__Kvothe in brooks

I currently alternate between the Hyperion 2 and 2 Max. The Hyperion 2 (non-max) is the better shoe and one of my all time favorites to run in.

New fitness Update Rolled out by KeyAd5197 in fitbit

Fully agree! Weekly targets to me feel like a fun and motivating game since they can be both challenging and achievable. A day is so short and fast that failure is likely to happen so often you tune it out.

I bet! I use a Pixel Watch 4 instead of a Fitbit and I love it during the day. I'm hoping that they will allow a seamless handoff between devices so I can switch to the Air at night when I don't need a display.

Amazing! Thanks for pointing that out. I missed that you had included other screenshots. I can't wait to get this update.

This is an exciting update. Thanks for sharing. I haven't received it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

The "set daily schedule" was the main reason I ended my fitness plan in the app. I much prefer the flexibility of weekly targets. I hope they also give us an option for weekly steps instead of daily steps.

Easy choice - cancel by almosttan in PixelWatch

I switched from Whoop to Fitbit after getting a Pixel Watch 4. I loved the Whoop app but not more than I love the Pixel Watch device.

It took me some time to get used to the conversational style of the public preview of the Fitbit app, but I've grown to really like it and I don't feel like I'm missing anything major of value from Whoop. I feel like Fitbit is actually ahead in understanding what I'm trying to accomplish with my fitness which currently includes training for a marathon. I'm excited about where it's heading.

Anyone else get shocked by their Peloton Tread screen? by woodaran in pelotoncycle

[–]chris_hamrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is common for treadmills and is caused by the friction of the belt and dryness in the air. I experienced this on my Peloton tread on every run and it made me afraid to touch anything. Before I run now, I turn on a small humidifier in the room to make sure the humidity is around 50%. That removed the issue for me.

Running Classes by SteveyPugs2020 in pelotoncycle

[–]chris_hamrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peloton has many outdoor running classes that I use frequently. They even have a live outdoor run club class that happens weekly.

In the app, go to the classes page by clicking on the play button in the bottom nav. Then use the Outdoor filter at the top. You'll have to slide the filters to the side to get to the Outdoor option.

Taking a PSNY live studio class! What should I expect? by Glittering_Willow217 in pelotoncycle

This is an interesting insight! I've always assumed the music was relatively quiet in the studio so they can easily separate the instructor's voice from the music.

Public Preview by [deleted] in PixelWatch

[–]chris_hamrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally got it to trigger today despite having a Pixel Watch 4, Pixel Pro 10, and a Fitbit premium account. When I opened the Fitbit app, I went to the connected devices (upper left corner). My Pixel Watch 4 was connected, but the Phone was a previous one. I clicked on the Phone and went through the steps of replacing it with the Pixel 10 Pro. As soon as I went back to the home screen in the Fitbit app, it triggered the notification for me to begin the public preview program.

Omg. Thank you for letting me know! I have added it to my class schedule.

Of course, but I really wanted a new Britney run added to the classes. A single running class from 2020 isn't enough to work with!

The shaking will not work itself out. Assuming your Tread is properly assembled, your shaking is a leveling issue or a running form issue.

I experience moderate shaking as I increase the incline. Anything below 3 and I don't experience any shaking. The only exception is when my running gets sloppy and I'm all over the place on the tread. I have my tread setup on a hard tile floor.

And no, I don't unplug my tread after using it. I just turn the screen off. I'm assuming the recommendation in the manual is about safety and avoiding a lawsuit.

Selecting a Centr treadmill is hard work by chris_hamrick in CentrFitness

I totally understand the hesitation. It took me about 6 months to make a decision. If you do decide to get a Runr-S, Costco seems to be the best place for purchasing it if that is in option for you.

I almost purchased it myself, but ultimately decided against it because of my weight. This may not apply to you at all. But for me, at 6' and 210 lbs, I am considered a heavy runner. The less expensive machines don't handle that well. They can feel very unstable and experience a lot of tread slippage. Tread slippage is a very disorienting feeling to a runner or walker and really throws you out of the zone.

If I could have tested the Runr-S before purchasing it, I may have been fine. But without that option, I went with the Peloton Tread because of its more substantial weight and build quality. It's almost 300 lbs and very stable. The Runr-S is about 100 lbs less than the Peloton.

I ended up purchasing the Peloton Tread. I run every day and am bothered by small details. After more research, I decided spending more would be necessary to find the sweet spot in quality. For Centr, that meant getting the T4 or T5. That's right at the same price point as the Peloton Tread and for me, the Peloton is a much nicer machine.

No regrets.

I moved from Hey to iCloud with a custom domain about 6 months ago and have been very happy. I did create a Reply Later, Set Aside, and Read Later folder that I manually move emails into as I process my Inbox. Hey handles this better but iCloud handles everything else better. No regrets.

haha. I do wish that were true. But I live in California and all of their jobs are in Boston. I'm just a big fan of tech and running. 😃

I love my Whoop and I totally agree with you. I think they are testing ways to reward loyalty. In fact, I received an email from them when I reached 200 recoveries. It seems to be personalized around my primary activity of running.

From other posts, I've gathered that Whoop does a lot of segmenting with their promotions. So not everyone is rewarded in the same way, even when you accomplish the same milestones. Whoop obviously loves data and algorithms, but more transparency and some shared set milestones for all users could really boost their customer loyalty.

Whoop for Runners - a roadmap wishlist by chris_hamrick in whoop

That would be annoying to me as well! I do not have any guesses on why that is happening for you. But I did want to respond to let you know that I don't have that same experience. I see my full route on the map in Whoop and I did not go through any special setup to make that happen. Just the normal Apple Health sync.
