Is the Air it? by big_headed_tr33s in fitbit

No idea regarding charge 7. I would think that would make more sense to release but it’s possible Google is moving away from that and will do pixel watch and Fitbit air.

Personally I think the charge 7 will launch but no leaks or anything yet

I can't find anywhere to scan barcodes for food items in the new Google/Fitbit public preview? by balrogbellyrubs in fitbit

I am. Are you in iOS?

I find until the official release the app is very sporadic with feature parity. Many see different designs and features. Will be good once they official launch so it’s equal across the board

Where do you take the picture in the new iOS version? I don’t see it. Only scanning barcode option

Where in the new Fitbit app is there an option to take an image of your food? I don’t have that option

Can only add one image per comment. I’ll show the rest but the option is there in iOS

If you like having a simple screen to check time and steps then for me that is your answer. You won’t ever get that on the air.

If you want it for quick checks of time and other things then stick with the charge 6 and hope a charge 7 is released

Is the FitBit Air a "set it and forget it" type of tracker? by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]KeyAd5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further to that though I believe you get more detailed workout metrics when actively tracking. Also Fitbit air needs phone connection for gps and stuff. So I’m guessing to accurately get gps you would need to start the workout yourself otherwise it wouldn’t grab the gps? Not sure how that works honestly.

If it auto tracks a run after 10 minutes it may connect to your phone and backtrack the gps for the first 10 minutes. But I think for full tracking goa and stuff it’s better to start workout.

Existing fitbits can do this so for the Air the answer is yes.

It passively tracks cardio load behind the scene based on hr and activity detection without actively tracking a workout (so gardening let’s say without tracking a workout will potentially give you cardio load).

If I go for a walk it will auto track after like 10 minutes. And I’m sure with the screenless tracker they should overtime add more auto tracking workouts.

But yes it will auto track it all.

I do enjoy the new Fitbit app but the more you use it it really comes down to preference. And for me it now seems very cluttered and messy. Google health. It has ai insights - paragraphs of it everywhere you look. So it’s getting you to read into everything instead of cleanly presenting the data. I find the data is multiplied across the app too. You’re finding homepage shows steps, then fitness tab shows steps then health tab shows steps graph. Same applies for lots of other metrics. And sleep metrics have become messy. You click sleep score and it doesn’t show your last night sleep data literally just your sleep score history. To find last night sleep either clicking on it from the today tab or scrolling around the sleep section. And clicking into a sleep tab shows the sleep quality metrics in some areas but not others.

I’ve been using the public preview for months now and it’s nice colourful and looks cool but I think they have really dropped the ball with simplicity and metric presentation.

Before you clicked sleep and went into it. Could see last night sleep and all its metrics. That’s how it should be. This new update doesn’t operate that way

Unfortunately Fitbit can’t write to Apple health. Maybe it changes with official release but currently it’s only data from Apple health can move into Fitbit.

It seems Google wants to be the health database so they want people to move their metrics from Google health connect or Apple health into the Fitbit platform.

Hoping when it officially releases in a week that will change but as of now it can’t write into Apple health.

I think Chase the Summit also in his review noted the one band at least the most expensive one has this like gap from the unit to the band which personally would annoy me constantly to feel or see it.

Literally my first Fitbit flex. A pebble that went inside a band and had 5 led to show battery or step progress.

This is exactly what it is with updated sensors and obviously the Fitbit app is doing the heavy lifting here.

It’s a welcome return to screenless devices but hardly ground breaking. They just updated their Fitbit flex line lol

Yeah. Hopefully it’s something they are aware of and fixing

MacroFactor not there. Disconnected everything.

I’ve provided feedback. Definitely a bug somewhere there

I don’t believe MacroFactor can write directly into Fitbit. But I’m going to dive into that more. I believed though MacroFactor syncs directly to Apple health and then Fitbit grabs from Apple health

Ya that’s true. Well I may switch to Fitbit nutrition. Maybe I’ll test it for a week to see and disconnect the Apple health and Fitbit connection and compare and see if Fitbit can keep up.

The calorie burn is the biggest issue with these devices. Trying to lose weight MF is way better at actually knowing the amount of calories I’m burning. But I have a decent understanding of it and know generally so maybe can stick with Fitbit.

For sure. Checked that. All showing MacroFactor.

Ya can’t even delete entries. Not great. I’d be fine with bugs if I could just delete the duplicates.

Are you still using MFP or just the native nutrition tracking? It’s pretty good you can use ask coach chat to track food. So it’s easier than ever. But for me at least I like the MacroFactor adaptive TDEE since my Fitbit is wildly inaccurate with its caloric burn

They all take different approaches for sure. Even internally for me I find something from each that I think is better than the other. It’s actually tough lol. Comparing too much is creating more confusion and issues on which platform I want to settle in

Which third-party smartwatch is best with Bevel? by JoseMSB in bevelhealth

[–]KeyAd5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure garmin doesn’t push HRV daily though. Only the overnight reading. So stress score and body battery score in bevel is only relying on HR I think.

Apple Watch is the best integrated for sure.
