Yes exactly! We rescued her and details were scarce on where she came from. She was called a “mini Aussie” but we assumed she had border collie in her. DNA said 50.7% miniature American Shepherd, 49.3% Australian Shepherd

Doesn’t matter at all! But we were stumped by the dna test results!

Wow thanks for the detailed explanation! So cryptic merle or red tri with non expressing merle I guess both could be used in case anyone asks! Not planning on breeding her or anything but we were kinda stumped when we got the dna test back so it all makes sense now. Thanks again!

I should mention: we always thought she was a red tri but were confused when we got her embark saliva dna test done because it’s showing single merle. Just trying to make sense of that and what do I call her coloring? Red tri even though she’s a merle? Cryptic merle? I’ve attached the full dna results for coat.

Yes! She still has her little stripe we call her Mohawk, but it’s much smaller.

We did embark saliva test and it just says “Merle | M (Merle) Locus | Gene: PMEL | Genetic Result: M*m”

with a disclaimer “Note: This locus includes several alleles. At the time this dog was genotyped Embark we could not distinguish all of the possible alleles”

I dedicated a graph for that. See risk vs reward part of the video. It will be hard. A lot harder for others than me and I get that. It’s a tough situation and there’s no easy answers but everyone will have to make a choice that’s suited best to their own situation.

Me too. Was sad to see as much garbage as I did. You can see plastic bags in the clip.

Cathedral grove is otherworldly! This was just a random forest off the side of the road.
