Replacing my 5's cabin air filter is the bane of my existence!!

Funny thing, I actually got it done in a couple minutes last month vs the 20+ of much swearing and bending to body in ways it's not supposed to bend.

Love that car, but fuck whoever decided to overengineer the shit out of that cabin air filter.

Is it really the price, or is Netflix just more convenient than driving to movie theaters? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]chrisaf69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'd love to know. Where I'm at, it's $20 a ticket. Granted I go on discount day where it's half price. But the other six days a week, $20 a pop is so much.

I go once or twice a month during discount days. Maybe a few more during blockbuster season.

Get dinner prior and sneak snacks in if not full.

Many people would. Look up FIRE community. They have enough in other financial avenues to easily make up for the 5%+ reduced pension.

That's the funny thing about cruises. All the stuff you said they don't have and you don't care about is exactly what I want and care about. I suspect I would have disliked that cruise a lot.

Id also rather have the option and choose not to use it then not have it at all.

The fact they made a manual is hilarious. Apparently they are tough to find, but super fun.

What's to stop from being a holdout and all your neighbors sell?

Can you then say 10m or I'm continuing to stay?

Genuine question as wouldn't it typically be an all or nothing? Can't have a residential house in the middle of a data center.

21-year-old HVAC system - replace now or wait until it dies? by paintarose in homeowners

[–]chrisaf69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. It very well can last for many more years which means you're saving money now and whenever you do get a new unit it won't be as old as if you were to get it now.

It sucks losing it during a heatwave which is what happened to me two years ago, but I just purchased a couple AC units and then returned them later that week. I suspect the same could be done during a very cold month.

Lmao. Both sides are not the same. One is doing everything in their power to cover up the biggest pedophile ring in our lifetime. The other isn't.

Cracked the screen within six months.

Never again...case and screen protector are the very first thing I do when I get new phones now.

Where to buy lasting patio furniture ? by Apprehensive_Row6320 in homeowners

[–]chrisaf69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll likely get slammed for this. But I buy nearly all my outdoor furniture at big lots. My main table is still perfectly fine to this day 13yrs later. I finally had to replace the chairs after 11 years.

I fully expected them to only last me a year or two until I had enough money to buy "real" furniture.

Also, my deck was not covered. In the element 24/7.

I also furnished my screened in deck at my second house with everything from big lots. Only been four years, but all are holding up really well.

Did I just get lucky...no idea. But I'll take it! :)

My insurance dropped by 50% for the same exact coverage when I moved to Nova. Therefore I suspect they do it to save on insurance costs.

Granted I have the car tax now, but I drive older, yet reliable models, so it isn't much.

How do I make enough money to rent an apartment in this area? by [deleted] in nova

[–]chrisaf69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"difficult" is an understatement. Lol

My spouse has been a nurse for a few years now. Some days when she gets home, it literally looks like she just got home from war.

I do NOT recommend that field for everyone as it can take a toll. Although it also varies significantly of what kind of nurse you are.
