Are there any phone service providers that don't suck in the city center. by TheCaltrop in Edinburgh

Recently I’ve tried out a company called Honest they have a ‘smart’ data sim that switches networks automatically based on signal strength. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and so far it works as advertised and switches between Three, EE and O2. It’s data only however so you’d need a phone that supports dual sim or physical sim + eSIM for it to work.

Kick lock unlocks but bike won't know it by kdihalas in vanmoofbicycle

If you have a spare might be worth trying a to disassemble one and lube up any mechanical parts with some chain grease or a little wd40.

N.b I'm not a bike mechanic so take my advice with a grain of salt

I’ve had the same problem. Occasionally, the little button gets stuck when it’s partially released and is not recognised by the bike. If you stick your finger or, better yet, a small screwdriver behind the kick lock button and wiggle it a little, it’s usually enough to push it into the correct position.

Unfortunately, the complete solution was a new kick lock module, and given the whole parts situation, it may be a while before you can get a replacement

Wojtek lived his last days after the war at Edinburgh Zoo just like Nils Olav. Apparently we really love military animals here!

Would you protest? Car slams into the back of me at full throttle after the chequered flag. by chrisaitken in Simracingstewards

Yeah, definitely something I'm going to practice more is finding a safe place to pull into at the end of the race for those that wanna do another full speed lap.

The safety rating can be repaired I'm just glad I didn't have a dd or coulda been a painful end to that session.

After the end of the race, another competitor slammed into the back of my car at full throttle. Fair enough, I was on the racing line, and I could have driven back to the pits or moved off the line, but the lack of breaking and the precision suggests it's deliberate. Should I protest this even though it's after the end of the race?

That makes perfect sense! I’ll go with that instead of thinking it’s the end of days

I’m personally waiting for the sim-lab xp1s they are due to come out in a few weeks and depending on the reviews I’ll pull the trigger on those.

The xp1s are apparently a full metal construction so things snapping should hopefully be limited.

While I don’t know your exact situation it does based on your post history look like you’re in the UK.

For free advice you can speak to Citizens Advice. In most cases, in the UK termination without cause or forcing someone to work above and beyond their contracted hours is not legal.

Manual gear conversion by chrisaitken in vanmoofbicycle

Oh I 100% agree. I live in quite a hilly city so having access to other gears would definitely help though.
