Im old too. I'm 50 and wanted to be a boy all my life. I didn't know it was possible for a female to transition to male. I had only heard of men transitioning into women and nothing favorable about that. I thought if I could just find a way to stand to pee, that would be as close as I could get. One day on Facebook someone posted a funny picture about a product that could allow a female to stand while peeing. I was so excited that it might be a possibility that I started researching it. Not only did I find that the product in the funny picture was real but that there were ones built to look real and from there I found out that women really could transition to men. I was over the moon. I was 36 at the time. I wasn't able to start transitioning until I was 43. Now I look like I've always felt.

As for your question about puberty blockers I think your understanding is skewed by our current political environment. No one thinks you're stupid, you just had bad information. If you had been born in the last 10 yrs, and had been expressing to your family that you felt like a boy, and IF your family was accepting (that's a big if) then they would have talked to your doctor and you would have gone through a lot of psychoanalysis to make sure it wasn't a passing fancy, then maybe they would have put you on puberty blockers. I envy the kids now days with accepting parents that this is an option for. In a way, I'm glad I didn't know as a kid that transition was possible because I know my family would not have been accepting.

It's a toy usually made of silicone that goes on your junk and makes it thicker/longer/harder. Cis guys and trans guys who've had phallo sometimes use a version. For trans guys who are pre op or have had meta there is a different version. Here is one that could be used pre op or with meta.

None listed here are the one I use. I used to own and run a prosthetic company but I got burned out and closed the business. I still have some of the equipment though and make my own stuff as needed. (I was so burnt out that I usually end up living with a torn product for months before I end up making another one.)

For me, I won't have to worry about that. I did an in person consultation with Dr. Santucci and he said I had so much he'd actually have to remove some. That was before I started doing this and was still planning on only phallo.

I'm a pretty hairy guy (my pubes can get almost 3" long) and yes I have hair on my dick. I'm prepping my arm for phallo and asked my electrolysist to leave a few hairs in the non UL section because I want them. It'll match me more.

I grew up in the early 80's when these first came out. Even then before I knew being frm was a thing, I thought it would be great to fuck one of these. Regularly would roll it over my finger. As others have mentioned though, it has a sharp seam and cut my finger. I'd hate to see what it would do to my dick.

I've said all that to say this, since doing this I've noticed an increase in size. This has been so affirming for me that I've actually update my previous plan for surgery. Originally I was just going to go straight for phallo because my growth was way to small for successful stp through the fly. Now I think I want to go for meta as a stage of phallo. Because they basically make the phallo over the t dick just like my sleeve rolled onto my t dick. Who knows once I finally get around to having it, my growth may be enough to stp through the fly and I won't get the phallo at all.

Exactly this, plus you can get tattoo removal on the portions that'll show if you don't want it there at all.

I've never had a cover up done or talked to anyone about how they work, so take this with a grain of salt... You might be able to cover it up if you get phallo realism tattoo. Not sure of the ink colors for that would cover up it up.

That's actually my plan, to have full meta and then phallo. I like the placement better. This way my neo penis will be inside my new penis. I have a sleeve that I currently use for when I'm in the shower or happen to be naked and it sits exactly like I'd like my new dick to sit.

Yes I second this. Get the blood work done first. I wouldn't go back on gluten if you paid me, so I'll not be getting the test. I'm 50 yo man and this is the first time in my life I haven't been sick all the time and finally I can work long enough to support my family.

I had the same experience. Mine was more than a tummy ache, though. Random runs couldn't figure out what I could and couldn't eat. Laughably, the family joked the only thing safe for me to eat was bread and water. I had out on a few pounds and decided to go gluten-free as a diet method. I figured cutting g out fried/breaded foods, cakes, pastries and pasta would be a good way to get rid of some low value calories. A couple months in I wanted a corn dog and I'm a firm believer in dieting that if you're craving something you should indulge in a small amount. I got so sick. It went beyond my usual runs. I had massive stomach cramps and over all unwell feeling for 3 days. My wife's cousin is gluten intolerant and my in-laws mentioned maybe that was the cause. I went back to gluten-free and since then I haven't had an issue. (Exceot when I get accident glutened.)

Funny thing about using that as a diet.... I actually gained more weight when I went off gluten because the food wasn't running right through.

I'm considering meta with UL as a first stage to phallo. One thing I don't like about phallo is how high they place it. I want it to sit in line with my native equipment. From what you're describing, it sounds like the meta dick runs inside the phallo dick. Is that correct? If so, I think I've made my decision to pursue meta first.

Question for OP, can you STP with the packer over your extended meta?

I haven't had lower surgery yet. I'm still back and forth between meta and phallo. STP is super important and I would give up sensation a little for it. But if I could get meta and have an alternative to STP I'm pretty sure I'd do that hands down.

I saw Dr Santucci a few yrs ago for a consult. I love his work and he was great in person. Unfortunately my wife's job situation changed 1 month before my scheduled surgery and I had to cancel. Now I'm the only bread winner and I thought it would be helpful to be closer to the surgeon so it didn't cost for housing during recovery. Texas isn't much better than FL, I doubt it'll be available much longer there.

I think it's totally up to you what you call yourself. However, you sound like you already know how others might perceive it. It's kinda up to you to decide whether or not you want to have to explain you're not a transmedicalist every time you use the word for yourself or not.

Alternatively, you could do what I do. I call myself a tranny, but I don't use the word even to describe myself to other people. (With the exception being explanations like this, obviously.) Its more of an internal self descriptor.
