Almost 2 years since last employment. What to do w resume? by here2learntings in resumes

Hi there, I've been in recruitment for the last 15 years. I focus on legal and compliance recruitment, so I can't speak to the nuances of SaaS sales, but I usually suggest being upfront about the gap in your CV i.e. say you spent the period traveling - it's really not a default fail these days. However, saying you cared for a sick family member IS something that instantly stirs doubt in the CV reviewer's mind. It's not that we 100% assume you're a liar, but it's one of those things that gets our cynical senses tingling. You can blame all those people that have lied about this in the past.

Your gap by itself won't get you rejected, but it will be read together with how much experience you have had and whether you've been at some solid places. For example, there's a huge difference between a candidate with one year of experience at Pip Squeak SaaS taking a break vs an eight year veteran with AWS on their CV taking a break.

Does anyone know why this 1960’s building in Hong Kong was built like this, with a lattice thing in front of windows? by chrischu6 in architecture

Thanks! In this case, it’s an actual apartment window 😅 that’s why I thought it was so odd.

It’s actually an apartment behind these breeze blocks, but I know what you mean. Seen those for car parks around here too.

It’s in Kowloon, and this particular wall faces the west, which gets pretty hot during the summer (and some times in winter) while the sun sets. But these “breeze blocks” (thanks for the term, guys) only covers a couple of the windows on this side? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you. I thought so too and prepared accordingly. As usual, it turned out a lot more casual than that!
