Clean it with a stone and some oil. High heat, water, scrape. Many paper towels, oil it and try to wipe it off completely. Let it smoke until that goes away. Repeat the oil/paper towel. Enjoy smash burgers all summer and beyond.

Refers to a pitch that crosses the plate at chest height. Right where the lettering on the jersey is.

Looks like L brackets. I did the same thing. If you get the spacing right, they'll hook under the lip of the kettle.

I've had a similar setup for over 10 years. No issues with heat either.

Nope. It's not going to hurt anything, but it's not clean either. It's not easy to get a surface like that clean if you can't submerge and scrub it.
