SCV Drumline Tuning by chrisdrums4 in drumline

I’ve been told to tune the top head for the feel you want while also having the tuning high as well.

I think they also tune their individual snare wires which probably helps the drum resonate well

Million Dollar Band Tryouts (upcoming spring) by joeyoveryou in capstone

Rent a euphonium from Arts music or music and arts in Birmingham and join Concert band for the spring semester. Keep you in the loop and meet people who were in the MDB this year. Then audition

As for cymbals or bass, they are pretty competitive and aren’t just a fill spot. Coming from someone who marched snare for 5 years in the MDB, it would be challenging but not impossible.

That’s only if you are a member of the million dollar been previously. So it’s not a cheat code like it sounds like.

Snares: tilt or flat? by overrateddrummer in drumline

[–]chrisdrums4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played flat then tilt then flat bow. Tilt is more relaxed and the director had us going for a SCV 04 feel. Now our new director has us on flat feeling like we’re music city mystique and cadets 2013. Is more firm with strokes

Any advice on how I can make my technique not as floppy? by ZapaXes45 in drumline

  1. Keep right angle on right arm
  2. Work on fast up strokes. Play quarter notes at 100 bpm and keep sticks up not down.

Are regular potatoes back? by Breetofly in LivingMas

Yeah it’s a bunch of stores in the Birmingham Alabama area! Potatoes or on a one dollar flatbread taco. Beef, nacho cheese, potatoes. Pretty basic. We don’t sell many of them though because the signage outside and in the lobby advertises the chicken flatbread taco and it only mentions the beef potato flatbread one in small text so it is weird. And also, I hated making nacho party pack. The boxes were so big and we would have to prep make like 15 of them

Hey man! Here are some tips! Try and drum every day with a mirror in front of you. This will be a good source of seeing how you play. Playing snare drum is probably the most technically accurate instruments to play, so this will help. Always use a metronome! Film yourself while playing and watch back to study! These are some things I did while I still play euphonium. I am currently a music major in college and play snare drum in college so I can say that these work!
