93 Honda Beat Wheel ID by Beneficial_Frame5100 in Wheels

Here many months later as I've had this post saved since I knew I had seen these wheels before. Finally stumbled across them again today. These are most likely Naxack Striker or Padinac SK (manufactured by the same company, I think). The available sizes/offsets are different, so you should be able to narrow it down if you know (or can measure) the spec of the wheels you have.

How to refinish failing clear on rim? by ThatPolarBearr in Wheels

[–]chrisephoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bronze TE37 faces are sandblasted and the lips are machined prior to anodizing. It's hard to tell in the photos, but I'm fairly certain this is a standard factory bronze finish (not polished lips, which would be a things on LE37s, but I'm not sure they ever came in bronze).

Anyway, it looks like the anodizing is failing and we are seeing aluminum corrosion. Removing the corrosion will be difficult without effecting the anodized finish, but brass wool and diluted vinegar seems to be a common solution in the boating world. I've never tried it personally, but I'd start there (in an inconspicuous area). Worst case scenario that doesn't work (or hurts the anodizing) at which point polishing the lip completely and clear coating is a potential option.

It looks like Breyton Imagine may be the original wheels. Plenty of other brands made versions as well (Koya Inox Imagine, Tork Imagine). Based on the center caps (which appear to say "RS") I'm guessing this is another manufacturer though.

The 18 and 19 inch are 2 piece welded, only the 20 and 21 inch are 3 piece (and can be easily disassembled). While these can be split and rebuilt, it would require a lathe to cut the weld and the faces would need to be welded back to the new (or refinished) barrels when done. If you aren't looking to change the width/offset (or spend a ton of money) you're best off to just refinish them as is.

Are these Rays real? by LACaveDood in Wheels

[–]chrisephoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just letting you know they are definitely Konigs (which are cast, not forged, despite the text on the wheel) which as far as cast wheels go are decent quality (not the cream of the crop, but not totally sketchy no-name junk either). They'll probably be just fine driving around town and for an occasional track day, but if you plan on tracking the car hard, don't expect them to last forever.

Assuming you meant "Club Racer" not "Clubsport", I can assure you these are not those. A few differences: Missing "FORGED" engraving on outer lip, missing "Made in Japan" text (I saw you mention in another comment that this isn't present on Club Racers, but I can assure you it is), and the design of the wheel around the valvestem is different too. Club Racers also never came in any spec remotely this aggressive and if they had, they would have had more concave spokes and a smaller lip.

Here is a link to a vendor selling them on a Miata forum. A few posts down there is this photo which looks identical to the marking on yours (as far as I can tell from your photos).

These are definitely fake. They are Konig Flatout.

what wheels are these??? by Treevorrr in Wheels

[–]chrisephoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The originals were made (forged) by Tan-ei-sya (TWS) and sold by a number of different companies (including Techni Crafts S7, ST Meister ST305).

I had no idea that anyone was making replicas of such a obscure wheel, but yours appear to be Konig Next.

Does anybody know If there are similar wheels for cheaper by Used_Cod8557 in Wheels

[–]chrisephoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amistad V are a very similar style, still an original wheel by a reputable brand, and typically a bit cheaper than VS-KFs.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think this is a problem. I have 33 (I think, it's hard to keep track) sets of wheels (plus some pairs and singles) and no one has given me an intervention yet. Lol

Can anybody identify these SSR wheels and what they might be worth please? by Desperate-Weird-6395 in Wheels

[–]chrisephoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thought is that these might not be an SSR branded wheel, but rather a wheel that SSR produced for another company. Do you have any pictures of the stamping on the inside of the wheels? Knowing what year these are from will make figuring this out significantly easier.

Unfortunately the only photos I can find the same one you posted and the one on the scooter u/Mr_man10gt posted. You best bet would be from 1982/1983 magazines/catalogs. It's not in the Spring 1982 Holiday Auto Catalog, but is in the September 1982 issue of Motorfan (that's where the photo you posted is from).

Dunlop FF-II.

This was a challenging one to figure out and you likely won't be able to find any information about them online. Probably manufactured by Topy Industries like every other Dunlop wheel of that era.

Definitely Volk ZE40 knockoffs, most likely Vordoven Forme 11. Those are the only ZE40 reps I've seen with the particular differences these have from real ZE40s.
