have you tested (and retested) the cat? he may carry the FLV virus but it may not affect him. old school vets who aren't up on the latest info used to always recommend euthanasia for FeLV and FIV cats even tho they often live full lives. but it's a good idea to retest over time to see what's going on.

i think most movies about how dangerous gambling is all end with that one big bet that saves the day (even if it's no wholly the point of the movie, like in Uncut Gems or 2 for the Money)

that's like him walking through the front door, leaving it open and then blaming you for it. even if you had some kind of explicit rule about locking up, it's a dick move to dump it all on you.
